Yep had an old Vietnamese dude that owned a convenience store on the Hill that would sell beer to anyone head high to the counter.

Wow you drank beer and smoked weed in high school? Wow you’re right you should have been jailed or dead
You’re probably the first teenager to ever be able to drink, smoke and exercise without going to jail or dieing

It’s not New Orleans bad, but it’s not what it once was.

I hated beer until my graduation party. It’s been a free fall ever since.

They actually ran a study my senior year of high school, and West Baton Rouge Parish had the highest rates of underage drinking in the country. I didnt miss many weekends to say the least

That’s like asking if I also beat off in high school

There was an older guy (60's) who went to my high school, and owned a convenient store. He'd listen to the football games on the radio, and I'd come in afterwards to buy beer. We'd talk about the game and he'd tell some stories about "back in his day".

I’m definitely in the minority but no.

Basically every weekend
Wouldn’t get drunk every weekend but we were always having a couple beers at least. Now if it was a party or we were at the beach chances are we were getting fricked up

I did not. My dad had a country/general type store and we had an apartment built in the back of it. I went to school with kids that never had anything new, yet their parents would come in every couple days and buy a carton of cigs and a case of beer. It was a big turnoff for me to drinking. I figured if I never started I'd never have to worry about it. I was 26 before I really started having the occasional beer. Really don't regret it.

Began drinking in the 9th grade. Didn't try weed, schrooms, etc.. until college. One of my older neighbors worked at Revco we'd get him to purchase Sterling "Big Mouths" and Thunderbird.

A little bit back in the late 70's.
Was easy for me to buy beer at 16. Just walk into the convenience store with my uniform on, no problem.
For hard booze, there was this nip joint out in the boonies anybody could pick up a pint for $10.
Then of course I move to Louisiana before my Sr year (Nakatrash) and turned 18 early in the year, could partake of the two drivethru frozen daiquiri joints. Chicks loved those things.
I wasn't a flaming alky tho...I did have a friend or two that became like this - was sad.

High school? Me and a buddy were having Jack & Cokes for lunch in 7th grade at Galvez Elem. We were too happy the 2nd half of the school day so finally got caught. Only a 3 day suspension so no biggie, but decided it could wait until after school

My parents were really strict so I really didn't drink outside of a few grad parties here and there. I always mortified of getting caught.

Yeah. We got a dude who got tall early and grew a beard to go buy it for us. They weren't as strict about checking IDs then.

I never had a ride anywhere, had no money, didn't have any of-age cousins that my parents trusted, didn't have a fake ID, didn't have any bars that would let me in, let alone sell alcohol to me. Got caught more than once.

TBH, while I did a little drinking in college, I didn't really start drinking often and in decent quantities until law school.
