Ah I heard the little commies on my street trying to play “Tax the Capitalist” just the other day. Told the one with the ball to be a fig like a real man.

Their heads exploded from a woke loopback error and I drove off.

That would be a really good afternoon and evening in the 70s. If we got to feeling wild, we would see who could jump over a fence from our roof.

Exactly! That made me remember when we would jump off our roof onto our trampoline to see if we could stay on the trampoline and what tricks we could do versus flying off of it. We also would race around a track in our backyard with go carts, mini bikes and dirt bikes.

All the fricking time. And when someone played didn't like we would make sure we tackled them in dog crap. Fun times.

We called that "Flies Up" in the 70's-80's.

Or maybe it was "Fly's Up"? Never really thought about how it was spelled till just now. Great times, tho.

A bit more fun when the QB was at the top of a big hill and the receivers were at the bottom.

We used to play it with basketballs in the gym where seniors lined up at the free throw line (imagine it goes all the way across). After lunch they kept the gym open so kids could go shoot some baskets it was right above the cafeteria.

The seniors would announce smear the queer and all underclassmen had to line up against the brick wall that was about 4 feet from out of bounds. The brick backing allowed the BB to bounce back easily. Never had any teachers or monitors.

Once hit you were out. I can’t tell you how many kids got hurt yet not one ever ratted em out. You would all be shooting hoops and they randomly would yell “smear the queer” and you lined up. You didn’t dare not line up either, it was a rite of passage.

I was very athletic and got good at dodging basketballs. It got hard because as you got hit you had to go sit down and that left 5 to 10 throwing at the fewer and fewer underclassmen.

If you were last man standing then you were not to be messed with by anyone for the next week, as the seniors always rewarded the winner with protection until the next game.

I won a lot but holy shite I took some shots too. One hit me on the side of my face and damn near knocked me out.

I miss those days.

Reading the comments sounds like an old game we played "all against all" as well. You could play it in several sports.

In the mid-sixties we called it "all against all".

I first heard it called "smear the queer" when my son was about 9 years old around 2000.

I thought it was funny but rather inappropriate. If it was called that when I was young I probably wouldn't have played because at some point you were going to be the "queer" and I wouldn't have wanted to be the "queer".

Ha great times! I used to frick dudes up playing that lmfao, lost half a tooth when I was prob 9 or so and I have broken many friends and class mates collar bones lmfao. U new it got serious when everyone started getting barefoot so you did t slip in the grass, Craziest shite was my buddy tearing his acl just running through a tackle just started screaming no idea what it was but he was in a damn cast for like 6months straight, when he got it removed for a brace and could finally wash his leg he has like layers of dead skin and that shite stank!

No idea what they call it now, I imagine that footballs and tackling is probably not cool anymore… my cousins kids and some friends on west coast don’t even play tackle ball they all play flag football until like highschool like wtf. That’s what bench warmers do
