This also caused a huge fight, between Fleet and Johns brother, that started at 1 house and continued for 2 more houses. It was so heated that the police were called to intervene and the Whites asked to leave. John eventually told the police that Fleet White was his #1 suspect for killing JonBenet.
Fleet admitted to police that he had gone to the basement alone earlier in the morning, and actually walked into the room where JonBenet was eventually found, but said he didn't see her. I can see some suspicion and arguments rising from that.
Maybe Fleet really didn't see her, but it is kind of strange John grabbed him to search the basement again, went straight to that room, and there she was. The FBI agent on the scene said the discovery felt staged.

The police actually told Fleet to go get John and search again because he was pacing. Fleet told the police it would come better from then so they told John to go search with Fleet.
Just throwing this out but I bet as close as Fleet and John were supposed to be that he knew about the $118,000 Christmas bonus.

Because I managed 200+ apartment units at the time I had weekly contact with the Boulder PD. You don't know the half of their incompetency. And murder in Boulder in the 90's was extremely rare. They just didn't know how to work a case. Their main function crime-wise was busting 18 year old kids drinking beer. That really turned em on.
And then there is Alex Hunter and the entire DA's office. These were people who were more political animals then Crime dogs. It's just a small stage kind of place and it's probably even worse now. Which is a result of it being this idyllic safe place where ALL of us slept with our windows open and even property crime was somewhat rare.

No, they only found touch DNA on the clothing that didn't match the family. Touch DNA doesn't really say much if it happened to get on the clothes that night.

Was she really ever in the back room of the basement? John had brought her upstairs claiming that's we he found her. Perhaps, she wasn't in there. I don't know.
How was Patsy s reaction when John brought her body upstairs to the kitchen? That would have been very revealing to see how she reacted.
Further, Burke was ushered out of the house and away from the police with swiftness that morning. In times of kidnappings, etc. I'll be damned if I let the one kid I do have go away from where I am.

Witnesses stated that Patsy threw herself on JonBenet's body and started praying and weeping. This further contaminated the fiber evidence, but still wouldn't explain the fibers on the tape, in the garotte, and in the vaginal area.
