We had one and it was rigged as hell on the prizes. The PTA chair's -if you want to call it that - son kept winning all the cool stuff.

I won a free eye exam.

We had this and I’m not sure I realized the purpose was to keep everyone from drinking

My HS did a casino night for prom, and it was a lock-in kind of thing.

It was fun as shite.

My wife’s family owns a big arcade in west palm area. A lot of the schools do them down here. Outside of birthday parties and summer camps that is their biggest source of income.

No. About a dozen of us sat on lawn chairs on the driveway and drank beer until the Sun came up and then we went home and took a shower and hit the sack. 3 days later I was at LSU and then Lackland AFB in San Antone for basic.

Yeah. It was ok. Would have much rather gone to sleep before sunrise though

We did. A group of us hid bottles of whiskey in the school so we could drink it during the lock-in.

In an attempt to keep kids safe on the night of graduation, Slidell area High Schools did a lock in called project graduation.

They rented out the community gymnasium and filled it with all kinds of carnival games, bounce houses, jousting, rock climb, karaoke limbo, etc for an all night party.

They gave away all kinds of prizes needed for college up to and including a car (it was a Chevy Aveo, but still...)

It was definitely lamer than grad night, but in hindsight it was a really good idea to keep kids from going out and killing themselves on the night of graduation. I'd say about 80% of the class attended.

Most high schools did that I thought. At least in La. They give prizes and money away for starting life after hs. It is actually a double edged sword by keeping the kids off the road drunk and by giving some kids who don't have good family or financial situations at home, some things that they could use going forward.

I honestly feel bad for everyone that didn't have a hypnotist at their graduation lock in. They missed out bigly.

Same here. Once it got to about 2:00am I wasn't really worried about going out and drinking.
