Only had 3 grandparents growing up and they were much older because I had older parents, all were gone before I reached high school. Probably the one thing I felt that I missed out on on childhood is having a real relationship with any of them where we actually went and did things.

My grandparents were a tie:
A) Oldschool grandfather who didn't talk to kids, grandmother who saved her kids comics for her grandchildren, circled monster movies in the TV guide for when you came over, took you to see monster/adventure movies at the theater. Fed you like you were just released from prison camp.
1) Oldschool grandfather who didn't talk to kids, grandmother had so many grandkids around that she served treats at set times during the day. So many cousins around the house that you didn't mind that they were rationing out food to the masses.

No, mine were equal in my eyes. I spent a lot of time with both......One side was just my grandmother as her husband/ my Mom's Dad died when he was 29 years old. She probably had the greatest influence on me professionally as she was a white collar worker who worked her way up from a secretary for Sun Oil in the 50's raising my Mom and Uncle on her own and eventually becoming a draftswoman for Sun Oil in the 70's.....which was unheard of back then for a woman to be in the drafting department. I probably get the masculine/ manly qualities from my Pawpaw on the other side. He was in the Navy in WWII....tatoos on his forearms, always drinking bourbon in his wifebeater in the backyard under the Pecan tree.

One set of grandparents lived next door to us growing up (next door being 1/4 mile away but still next door) the other set lived in Vega and we saw them maybe once every 5 years, so yeah for sure had A) grandparents and B) grandparents.
My parents and my in laws live within a mile of us and spoil the shite out of my kids so no favorite grandparents for my kids.

Both sets of grandparents live with us and they share one large bed. It's weird.

Hang in there, kid. I bet things will change for the better real soon. Just do as you're told when it comes to the fizzy lifting drinks.
Both sets of my grandparents lived in the same town. When I was real young, I liked going to my father's side of the family. But that was because my aunt lived across the street, and my great aunt lived next door, and there were always cousins my age that also lived in this small town there to play with. As I got older, teenage years, I preferred spending time with my mom's side of the family. But the good thing was they lived about 5 minutes from each other so any time we drove down for the weekend we'd get to spend a great deal of time with both.

Dad's dad was cool and mom's mom was cool. The others were dead or just plain dick

Yes,
And for some reason as a kid I thought him is that "A" side of the family and the "O" side of the family.

I had a living set and a passed away set of grandparents. Now I have two passed away sets. RIP.

I only have one set left.
I didn't meet my dad's dad. He passed away before I was born. My dad's mom passed away about 5 years ago, we weren't really that close with that side of that family. Probably saw them about 4 times a year.
I grew up next door to my mom's parents. Definitely closer to them.

My grandmother on mom's side. Didn't know my two grandfathers because they both passed away before I was born.

My dad’s parents both died before I was born. So I guess they were the “B” set by default.

When my daughter was born, she had 4 grandparents and 8 great grand parents still living. Now, just two grandmothers left.

I only had one set of grandparents. My dad's grandfather died when he was six, and my dad's grandmother never wanted to have anything to do with us growing up.
In a weird way, I feel like that helped improve the relationship I had with the grandparents I did have. I don't know if I would like splitting affection between two sets of grandparents.

I had an A and B set, but it was only due to proximity. Mom's parents lived in BR, as did I; Dad's parents lived in South Lafourche.

It was a distance thing in our cases.
Weekly visits with one set, occasional visits to other set but we would spend all holidays at their house.
The reason was that one set lived by our church so we would spend every Sunday there while the others lived about 30 minutes out of the way.
