Uh, 2nd degree murder definitely requires intent

Subdivision 2 of the Minnesota 2nd degree murder statute also covers unintentional murders during the commission of a felony.

Judge Jeannine or whatever her name is on Fox News:

“This is proof that our justice system works.”

That’s church, folks.

And like that, justice is out the door.

lol at y'all thinking this is the first time justice has ever been thrown out the door or that the legal system hasn't been a joke for a long time.

The sad part isn’t that Chauvin got convicted. It’s that he got convicted on counts that were ridiculous and should not have been even on the table.

Chauvin deserved to serve time for what happened, but the media, left wing nut leaders, and bs organizations like BlM and Antifa threatening violence just raped the lady justice. It’s no longer about getting the correct verdict, but the one to appease the mob.

In the end, they will celebrate this as some monumental moment, just like getting a psychotic murderer off because he was black was celebrated in OJ and the world will be worse for it.

Damn shame and I hope he wins on appeal only to show the system still somewhat works and gets a new trial.

ITT:

We will now have posters who already had their mind made up that Chauvin was innocent before the trial, now say that the system is rigged/bias and that’s the only way a jury could’ve reached that outcome.

Just like if DC was innocent, those who thought he was guilty before the trial would claim systemic racism and system isn’t fair.

95% (being generous) of people view everything through what they want to happen and any other outcome can only be explained by prejudice against them

It was always clear he was innocent. If you think otherwise, you're an idiot. It's really that simple.

The jury didn't even ask any questions whatsoever. It's hard to imagine they actually considered the legal merits of the case.

honestly it was probly a good thing he did - if he had walked out and been out leading to sentencing, he likely would have ever lived that long.

So now every cop who is arresting some dude on drugs will have this on the back of their minds.

"If I use any force at all and this dude dies because he ate all the drugs he was trying not to get caught with, I will get charged with murder. Better just let him run."

Seems like a great system we are building.

Inner cities will need to start troubleshooting their actual problems now vs sending police in to rough up people.

Just a word to the wise, for those that carry, make sure it's a "good" shoot if confronted because as of today we can not trust our system of justice.

So with the 2nd degree charge, they're saying that Chauvin made up his mind to kill GF on purpose?

Hopefully better ones.

We need to move toward a society where policing isn’t “us vs them” and cops don’t join the force to get off on their power trips but rather to truly protect the community and citizens they serve, by understanding the limits of their power and staying within those.
