From what I saw I felt the defense shredded the prosecution in closing, but i am probably biased because I have been saying since the day this happened that Chauvin shouldnt be charged.

I’m on the defense’s side and think Chauvin should be acquitted, but I actually thought the prosecution won the closing arguments. IMO Nelson got a little technical in closing and should have been more succinct and direct and “bullet-pointed”... thought he got pulled down a couple rabbit holes trying to make some minor points that really don’t matter in the grand scheme to an average Joe like a juror. His closing seemed scattered to me, didn’t flow that well, and he never really summed up the reasons why acquittal was the proper verdict.

Ironically, given the prosecutions assertions that Nelson was telling stories, I don’t think Nelson did a great job of telling his story, at least in the closing arguments.

Maybe that’s why he would have died eventually. He died that day because of of Derek Chauvin’s decisions.

He died that day because of his decisions. Chauvin just happened to be there when the consequences of Floyd’s decisions finally killed him

On what grounds, that they basically said “deny the presented evidence, trust the feelings we told you to have from the getgo, chauvins heart was 3 sizes too small that day that Floyd George ate fentanyl and meth.”?

Derek Chauvin made him swallow a lethal dose of Fentanyl?

George Floyd is literally a case study on how many poor decisions a person can make in a life before dying.

Wouldn't go that far, but given the performance so far in the trial, I was certainly expecting to feel like he knocked it out of the park more. Of course, closing argument are just that. He did a great job in the trial and disputing prosecution's versions of things.

Have I missed it all along, or have their not been any polls about whether people think he's guilty or not guilty?
Seems like I recall a number of these during high profile cases, such as OJs.

One thing that bothers me is that if Chauvin is found guilty, that means that the officers who held Floyd down and stood guard while he committed a homicide face no legal consequences. It's very easy for me to see how the jury could find reasonable doubt, but if they don't, then Chauvin is getting fricked over in that respect. I think they are all as guilty as he is, which may ultimately be not at all.

I don’t like cops and damn sure don’t trust most of them but I also don’t put myself in a position where I have to interact with them.

let's remember that the judge just today said the defense probably has a good case for a mistrial on appeal thanks to the actions of a certain politician

so even a guilty verdict from this jury probably doesn't mean the end of this case
