The bullet in his abdomen tore through his intestines basically shredding anything it came into contact with. This has been our biggest battle in my opinion. He has had countless surgeries trying to repair the damage that has been done. A month or so will pass and we will think we are in the clear, but it will always rear its ugly head.

Until Wednesday, we thought we were making progress with this wound. Wound care team, or Nick’s nurses will clean out the wound and pack it every day. Last week the wound was measuring 3 cm in depth. Yesterday, we measured the wound at 8.2 cm in depth.
