Very unfortunate situation here for sure, but I have not been convinced beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime has occurred here….Yet.
I guess everyone looks at things though a different lens. I haven't seen/read/heard anything that leads me to believe that there was no crime. Certainly the additional charges against Washington would make it seem that he is in the habit of taking advantage of young girls. And the coroner's report of anal injuries consistent with rape is telling as well.
And putting a girl out in the dark in the middle of the night in her condition just shows depraved indifference on their part.
I guess we will see how it all plays out.
Will be interested to see what happens with the Grand Jury.

Any word on what's going on?

Grand jury met for first time last week, according to a news report. Someone mentioned they meet every Wednesday. So perhaps some results this week on updated charges?
Other than that, we are waiting for the defense lawyers to give us more evidence.
See the discussion and analysis of the defense video a few pages back.

I suspect he was alluding to the the defense's propensity to publicize what some would believe to be incriminating evidence.

That’s how it took it.

Questions:
a) Does Madi's lawyer have access to all the videos or only the defense?
b) If yes, can Madi's lawyer also release video clips at their discretion?

madi's "lawyer" for the criminal case is the district attorney's office, and they will have access to anything the sheriff's department has uncovered in their investigation...i would imagine they would advise the family of anything that might come up at trial so they would not be blind-sided, but i don't see how the attorney who has made statements on behalf of the family would be allowed to release any evidence to the public...

Is editing the video - if the defendants or their legal eagle team did it - to change audio, video angles, when events took place - legally ethical? (If there is such a thing...)

i'm not an attorney, so i don't know what is considered unethical from a legal standpoint...i consider it unethical from a HUMAN standpoint if they did, in fact, alter the video...and if they did it will become known in time...unfortunately, the media involved will ignore that fact...i find nakamoto's behavior in this matter to be particularly egregious for a "journalist"...i think he's job shopping for a larger market, and i hope he falls flat on his arse...

Let me preface this by saying I am in the camp that believes these young men are guilty of rape because the young lady was too drunk to consent.
However, if she asked to get out of the car and they refused, isn't that kidnapping?

Maybe. If the prosecution has it and he has asked them for it, they’d probably show it to him. But my guess is that their lawyer knows enough to stay out of the way of the prosecution.

Kerry can release anything he’d like. But if he has it from the DA, it’s very unlikely he’d do so without the DAs approval.

We don’t know if anyone did any such thing. So let’s all slow the roll on that.
But if a lawyer altered video and released it to affect public opinion, my view is that the lawyer would run afoul of Rule 4.1, “Truthfulness in Statements to Others.”
I am quoting the Louisiana rule, but it’s identical to the ABA model rule, and it’s the rule in every state in which I’m licensed.

Just glanced at the statute. Maybe very technically. But why try to get them on a five-year charge that sounds ticky tack. You degrade the other charges.
It might be different if she asked to get out before the sexual incidents.
Again, just glanced at it. Others may be able to take a closer look.

every injury attorney's billboard and commercial would run afoul of that rule then.

Not really. They don’t usually make statements of material fact.
If remember right, some lawyer got disciplined on this for advertising false settlement amounts. You know the “Morris Bart got me $286,000” bits? This lawyer just made up numbers.
Y’all can’t hate on Gordon, and I’m no fan of billboard lawyers. But he’s creative.

Same for Haley.

I would say yes if they restrained her and took her a long distance away. But I would think that if she asked to get out and they said "OK, let me drop you off where you are not in the middle of nowhere" and then at least took her to a lighted area, that wouldn't be kidnapping. We're only talking about 10 or 15 minutes to drop her off somewhere that would have been safer. Outside of a hospital would have probably been a good idea given her BAC.
