How will we know if it takes place in secret? The prison can goes into an enclosed area at 19 JDC. We won’t see a walk into the courthouse.

Yeah. But the attorney can’t go in unless his client is testifying.

I effed this up earlier today. Thanks to whomever straightened me out.

PSA: I took criminal law more than three decades ago. And I never took CJ. Don’t lean too hard on my thoughts!

But you did stay at a Holiday Inn!

You've been helpful and quick to share info and correct yourself in the rare posts where needed. Thank you.

Visit the Rice investigation thread. It's more convoluted than this one.

I think grand jury results will be in by Friday if not Thursday. I'm expecting first degree, video voyeurism (they taped a rape on a phone at least in part), and possibly manslaughter or negligent homicide.

Not sure what the DA's office will be pushing. Will see.

Another rape arrest today of Washington - drunk girl at Reggie's picked up and he assisted - did no favor to the defense.

I think Casen has flipped. See if Joe Long is seen on cameras on Thursday with Casen - day jury likely to be hearing evidence.

I could see them all entering pleas at some point, especially if they're risking first degree penalties (life).

I’d bet none of these charges happen. 3rd degree rape probably

I don’t think the family will think those negative thoughts about their daughter

You don't think so? I don't have a daughter, but if I did, ideally I wouldn't want her having sex before marriage. But, we don't live in an ideal world and I get that after a certain age she might have a boyfriend and they may have sex. I get that.

However, I would think that as a father, I would be completely mortified and hurt that she would go to a bar and just leave with a group of guys she just met and let them have their way with her in a backseat of a car one after the other.

I can only imagine what her father and grandfather could be thinking at even the possibility that she consented to that.

If you were her father, you probably wouldn’t believe that regardless of what some TPOS human garbage said about your daughter. You’d be livid that anyone would says such things about your kid. Let alone people who don’t know her.

You keep stating this as if it’s a fact and it’s not. Do you know what goes into editing a video & manipulating the audio? Because I do.

No dog on this fight but I 100% agree with you and have extensive experience in this. This Hodsontiger cat is wayyy out of his depth

You don't think defense lawyers can afford people to edit video?

Teenagers edit videos on Tik Tok.

They just edited the parts they felt made their client look the best. The voice and video are OUT OF SYNC.

Go watch it again?

Ever use Avid? Final Cut Pro?

Yeah.

Out of my depth.

We're a team of people, o my dear brother.

Polymaths, at that.

This thread has been basically been consumed by two posters contributing 90% of the content. It’s a free country and all that but I’d mark that as a downer.

One poster is at least a long time member of the forum.

The newer poster is obviously a shill account or a media account run by multiple person’s.

I’d love to see this thread moderated more but that’s not up to me.

If the grand jury fails to indict, will 3rd degree rape still be on the table?

That's why I stopped posting for the most part.

Hold on a minute.

Has it already been decided the 17 YO won't be tried as an adult or is that TBD?

And if any/all of the other three knew before 1/14/23 of Washington's previous predatory activities, is that a factor legally?

To be determined. 17 y.o. could be tried as an adult given the charges.

Other three knowing about the other rapes couldn't be part of the trial as the other crimes won't get into evidence unless they display a specific m.o., which is doubtful.

Here's how the game is played:

charges are jacked up to a level the peprs are facing max penalty. Here, that's life in prison.

Perps say, "Wow. I could go to jail forever, or I can play let's make a deal."

Then they do what Casen will do this week: go testify against the others in exchange for a lesser plea deal.

Those that didn't go make a deal get worse deals but still likely:

plead to 3rd degree rape. Avoid trial. Be out of jail some time to go live the rest of your life.

District attorney has a lot of discretion as well.

Family is there and has a lawyer. They'd know and approve of a 'deal' made, if there is one.

If a perp goes balls to the wall, "No deal for me. Go try it. I'm innocent!" That's when, if convicted, they get the hammer from the Judge on the case. Usually. There are liberal judges around the country.

If Washington is convicted in LP before the trial here, could change things. He may plead here.

Lot of moving pieces but grand jury upping charges would mean a lot about what kind of deal the guys could cut.

Sex offens, depending on which one = life in the sex offender registry system.
