This is 2nd time I have read about previous assaults from Kaivon that were ignored.
Can we focus on this instead of all the incessant bickering about the uber driver? Kinda seems like a big deal given the circumstances.

You are mucking this thread
You are. It's the people having a cow over someone asking if the driver was speeding or distracted when he hit a human on the road. Pathetic. Driver wasn't impaired. Investigation doesn't stop there.

The only light on that part of the road will come from patio lights in the houses on the north side of burbank.

And it's hilarious you think that's all they did that night. Again, what evidence do you have? You're argument is that they decided "nope he's not drunk" while investigating a fatal collision is all that was necessary. IS that something you truly believe, or is it just the insane angle you are going to spam all day?

What is that quote about insanity and doing the same thing over and over expecting different results?

Is that area BRPD or EBRSO. If it’s brpd invistigating then not sure of the quality.

different coming to a stop at 55 mph than say 68 mph?
That's speculation.
I was traveling 40 mph, it was 5:30 AM, and by the time I saw the old man in black pants and a dark hoodie the only thing I could have done was cut the wheel and roll my suv into a ditch.
Thankfully he was 1 foot off the road.

Well the DA has seen the video and is looking to INCREASE the charges.
DA has also come out and said the video did not show the assault.

scruffy, i like your style as a poster. I've made my points repeatedly. Other posters are having come backs at me that are legit fricking retarded. They are trying to defend the driver's absolute innocence yet you are here telling me no one can answer my question but yet people are legit outraged about my questions and all that's been said by EBRPD is that the investigation into the wreck is ongoing and he didn't appear to be impaired.

Physics and the way force works is a hell of a thing…
From the NHSTA:
quote:
Modeling the data from Ashton (1982), Pasanen estimated that about 5 percent of pedestrians would die when struck by a vehicle traveling 20 mph. The pedestrian fatality percentage would rise to about 40 percent for vehicles traveling 30 mph, about 80 percent for vehicles traveling 40 mph, and nearly 100 percent for speeds over 50 mph.
What’s the speed limit for that area of Burbank?

What was the 17 year old name or did I miss it? I know they did not release the name due to him being a minor; however, his name needs to be blasted as well.

But Myers said that the video proved that there was evidence of a crime against the 19-year-old. Prosecutor Stuart Theiror said at the hearing that the state would be seeking upgraded charges of first-degree rape and plan to convene a grand jury in the case.
Louisiana's first-degree rape statute carries a mandatory life sentence without the possibility of parole.
Judge said NOPE

He said the video showed the suspects laughing 'callously' as she slurred her words inside of the car, but it does not depict the assault.
thought that nugget was interesting. does that mean the actual rape assault was not filmed? What were they filming? Her being drunk, how did they think that proved consent? Or were they filming the "consent" thinking they are rape professionals?
