used to love Denny's growing up. Then I was introduced to Waffle House. Now I see it for the cold soulless wannabe that it is.

Breakfast chain tiers

1. Waffle House
2. IHOP
3. Huddle House
4. Dennys

There’s a Dennys in Key West that has a stellar bar.
Been there, can confirm.

Heading down there this time next week, I’ll verify.

Cracker Barrel implodes and raises
value of Denny’s right before it’s bought by PE.

Did any of you actually read the article? Or did you just regurgitate stuff you and your boys discuss at the gym because you have a Robinhood account? They are going to run the restaurants and provide capital to improve sales. One of their biggest franchisees is one of the buyers. You think he would just want to break it up and sell it? PE is in their businesses to make money.

It clearly says…

“and Yadav Enterprises, which is one of Denny's largest franchisees.”

“called Denny's “an iconic piece of the American dream” with a strong franchise base and loyal customers.
“We look forward to working with Kelli and the rest of the Denny’s team and franchisees to provide resources and support the Company’s long-term strategic growth plans,"

Low and mid-tier chain restraints are dying because they simply aren't affordable anymore. The clientele they served previously have been priced out and customers with deeper pockets are willing ot pay more for a better restaurant.

You find yourself at one with the little woman, get mediocre food and service and it's like $60-$70 after the tip and everything and you're like, this totally wasn't worth it and don't go back.

Damn, no more late night jokes about Denny’s especially if late night comedy goes with it.

Hate to see it, it'll ruin them after they've been loaded up with debt and every penny wrung out of them.

I have a memory of eating french toast there one day with my parents. No special occasion just a random Saturday morning. I don't know why that sticks out, guess because we rarely ate like that on Saturdays. Anyway, I like to stop there every so often because of that. They've been pretty mediocre for a while now.

Uh, where does the money come from to build bridges, gas stations, restaurants? Does everyone that wants to do anything just has 500mil laying around? How are school districts like Lamar and Katy going to take out billion dollar bonds, year after year?

No, no one reads and thinks. Your current downvotes reflect that too. This thread is just a rage bait circle jerk.

Last time I went to a Denny's was in Las Vegas, but that was 20 years ago.

I used to work a plant engineering job where I had to cover 3rd shift one month each year. Would go to Denny's for lunch at 2 am.

Are Chilis and Applebee's considered to be "lower tier"?

Serious question, because I don't know.

But I've heard they are having a resurgence because a meal at McDonalds costs almost as much as a meal at Chilis or Applebee's anymore.

And I could probably get a decent steak for the price of a meal at Five Guys.

I'd say yes. The burger combo is $13.49, which still makes it more expensive than a quarter pounder meal. But then you need to tip, and actually sit down to eat. I'd rather sit at home at eat.

The burger combo isn't bad, calorie wise (890). But the chicken bacon ranch quesadilla is a mind blowing 1690 calories. It makes McDonalds look like a health food palace.
