possibly a life plea.
How does that benefit the defendant? It's not like he's facing the death penalty.

I'm thinking of a number......hmmmmm, yes it rhymes with ife. How does that sound?

It will probably be for 40 years, min or possibly a life plea.
Life without parole? In Louisiana you see a lot of murder 2 charges get pled down to Man 1 with a 40 year sentence, as opposed to life without parole for a Murder 2 conviction.

No trial. It is going to be bad for him

Probably life + 50 years or one of those sentences if it goes that route

I heard that his best friend Jason Ard was subpoenaed last week to testify by the other defendant, Melanie Curtin.

I'm personally looking forward to the resignation of one Sheriff Tard. No way he comes out clean in this and if he does then someone dropped the ball. This dude doesn't deserve his position and should've resigned when the incident occurred under his watch.
Hearing the reputation of Dennis from his cohorts, there's literally no excuse, and each moment he's stayed in office after that just looks worse for the entire parish.
He needs to be held accountable, if you can't guarantee the safety of the kids in your own parish, then you've failed.
To the person(s) who downvoted this: you're just as inept as the sherrif, anyone carrying his water is a sorry fool.

Yeah, As morally bankrupt as this person is he probably still has family and friends that he doesn’t want to see a trial, and the media exposure it will bring.

Not sure what the max sentence is, but if they can get him to plea to close to it without needing to go to trial it makes sense. Saves time, tax dollars, children testifying, a misstep leading to mistrial on appeal, etc. Get him locked up in Angola as quickly and efficiently as possible.
This shite right here. If he agrees to something like 70 or 80 years, he ain't ever getting out of prison (no WAY any parole board lets him out early) and there's no risk of having some procedural error torpedo everything and having to start over and put everyone through that shite another time or let him walk.

The only possible deal I see him getting is that he is somehow kept out of genpop. He would stand no chance there. For her, maybe parole eligibility after 40 years or so.
These are the absolute lowest forms of human debris.

If the victim of rape is 12 or under he sure is.

Death penalty needs to be utilized in cases such as these. Scum of the earth

95-97% of cases plea out. It's not some big deal. It will probably be for 40 years, min or possibly a life plea.
Won’t matter. They’ll kill him in prison pretty quickly.
