Has anyone had this happen to them? They refused to test me. I thought there wasnt a shortage of tests anymore.

I live with someone that came in direct contact with someone who had it and was showing symptoms (loss of taste, smell/fever/headache). They said that they wouldnt test me. Is this normal?

Maybe with the escalation of cases the last few days, they are getting strict as to who gets a test again?

Just a guess.

They’re encouraging people here who are potentially asymptomatic carriers to get tested, so no.

There is a current shortage in some areas that are experiencing recent surges. I know here in Birmingham that is the case, and some places are only testing people with symptoms.

EDIT - changed to some places, as I don't know the situation everywhere in the area. I know of a few places that are only testing symptomatic people.

Da frick. You probably would've already healed up or died by the time you get your results back

From what I gather .. the nose tests are hard to get still.. but basically anyone can get an antibody test

And then there is a misconception that the tests are both doing the same thing, but in reality there could be a significant lag before the antibodies show up.

This is how they are suppressing the numbers. If you die, they will claim it was "natural causes" to suppress the death rate as well.

Why would you want to be tested and possibly be forced to quarantine? If I feel well enough to get out of bed, I’m not getting tested

If you don't check enough boxes, you don't get tested.
