why TF would you want it to be slow?

Goodness! It almost looks like the violence of the convection at the center is blowing out eye wall consolidation. If an eye fully forms allowing Delta to really "breath" it seems it would be hard to limit it at Cat 3 or 4 at Yucatán landfall.

Slow is the best and maybe only way for it to miss LA, but it’s very unlikely.

Any of my potential places to ride it out of Laffy, BR, or NOLA don't look too promising

Will delta be the first Greek major to make landfall? That bitch looks so angry on satellite.

Would Hattiesburg be a good spot from Nola?

It would be better than NO, but the track takes it over H Burg as well, just a lot further inland, Go east

My bad, I see why you thought that. I gave up on it fizzling out. We getting a decent hurricane. Just about gave up on any shift. I’m only a few miles off the eye track. Although those last few posts piqued my interest. So I’ve resorted to rooting for its speed lol

Yeah Delta’s rotation is noticeably violent. I’d imagine the small size gives it that impression.

So ummmmm..

If this is going to be a Category 5 in the Gulf briefly, what is causing it to go down to a Cat 2 by landfall? Shear?

I turned a fan on and pointed it south

It's an oscillating fan, so look for the track of this thing to bounce around
