An app called Windy is going to overstate the wind every time

I was actually surprised to see the wind speeds were significantly lower than the local meteoroligists are saying. The mets use "max expected" but windy.com has more reasonable estimates

What’s the exact time of expected landfall? Still 6pm ish?

Core of storm is about 2-3 hours from shoreline and official landfall will be about 2 or 3 hours later.

NWS official max wind forecast for Lake Arthur is 77 gusting to 98.

That's pretty believable.

Yeah, the older folks in my family called freaking out but Wade is using GRAF. I told them that the experts here say that model vastly overstated...especially inland.

Update: travel ball tournament just cancelled. Look for a hard east jog and sustained Cat2 all the way to Brusly.

Stay safe fellas!

Delta in LC at 2pm

Update from south LC. Wind has picked up (gusts in 40-50mph according to airport). Still coming from north but has more eastern push than earlier. Rain has picked up as well.

Yeah he's full of it. Last night at 6 he was calling 117 MPH gusts in Laffy and that we had never seen anything like that before. I was here for Lily and I KNOW we had bigger gusts than that. By the way if this rain doesn't slack off imma start getting a little worried. Ditches in my AO are filling up...

Assuming your yard doesn’t usually hold water like that? Any word on how drainage is doing?

Where are you in Laffy? I've had very little rain.

recon reported that Eye is now 46 miles wide. That is roughly the distance from Iowa to Rayne.

Whatever is left of the eyewall may get dangerously close to Lafayette.
