Delta approach is acting like a natural aphrodisiac. Must be the drop in barometric pressure.

They'll get it down to Cat 1 by landfall.

I think it will go down in records as cat 2 landfall but will really be cat 1

much lower wind speeds than Laura. May still cause some additional tree loss though.

Can confirm just driving around, trees are being finished off. Not whole trees but limbs freshly broken

It’s a sailboat, not a schooner.

Yeah, a shite ton.

Now that I live in the Parish, whenever I see that Amite Flood Table, my sphincter flinches,

I'll say this, wind really picking up now. According TWC app, we're gonna be getting growing winds until 2 AM, up to 37 MPH. Is that sustained or gusts?

Nothing compared to the poor folks out West. Really hoping this thing dies even more than expected, and you guys don't get it too badly. Prayers sent.

Yeah, but the Chief probably works at the Post Office half the day.

hope Cap is wrong about 50-70 mph gusts. Seems high.

I agree. He and Jay keep showing those models instead of focusing on the actual forecast. I really don’t think the BR area gets 60-70mph gusts.

Glad you found someone. Also glad that the one I found was able to fly off because the next suggestion was to look in BR for someone, maybe the vet school, but also possibly to let them euthanize it. Which would be a bummer and a half to euthanize a hummingbird.

The post season report will confirm all of it and be the record.

It's starting to get worked by the shear and dry air. 90-95 officially at landfall from the NHC is my expectation. High end 1.

Recon seems to have located center at 28.7N 93.5W.

May be a good heading for keeping LC out of the core if it continues.

Someone mentioned it earlier in this thread, download the Windy app or go to windy.com which will show you estimated wind gusts going forward too.

He probably rathers that than being attacked by mosquitoes on that wharf last night. Dude was wearing shorts and deck shoes.

Bad news according to that app. It’ll get up to 87 mph in LC.

Good news it’s bright and sunny starting at 10AM Saturday so start making those Saturday plans now.

Fix 1 - 28.1N 93.9W @ 15:03z (963 mb)

Fix 3 - 28.7N 93.6W @ 18:18z (967 mb)

so far this mission... the storm has moved +0.6N -0.3W in 3:15 & pressure has risen by 4 mb
