Freshwater canal Locks already 2.6 feet above normal with only a little wind. Will be an interesting guage to watch later this evening.

According to my rain gauge I’ve got 8.8”
Yeah, kinda wondering about that myself. 7 inches is a lot of rain, but I haven't seen the streets go under in this old neighborhood since Rita.
I've seen ditches overflow and drown the yards and driveways, but the roads are higher and have that little hump in the center, those stayed visible even in 2016 on my street. At the height of it early this morning, it looked like a canal. You could see geysers where the storm sewers were.
