I’m worried about water for Lafayette. My son texted during Laura saying it was rising at his newly purchased home. Hope it’s ok this time as it ended up being for Laura.

They have evacuated north to Church Point and have taken up a secure spot between Sunny's and Baw Paw's trailer house. Overflow will set up at the Saddle Tramp.

I’ll be reporting live from the Point.

Someone decided this week was the time to start tearing down the old wholesale here. They left a big pile of debris.

I wouldn't worry. Not too much rain with this one because it is rolling. I am in Lafayette too near Kaliste/Ambassador and will be posting as long as I can. Doesn't your son live near River Ranch?

thedrumdoctor What’s the latest for Lafayette and strength ? All that relevant stuff

According to Rob Perillo or what’s really going to happen??

Rob says 100 mph gust in Lafayette so probably get 70 mpg gust with 4 to 5 inches of rain

Yeah I’m pretty sure it rained the day before, and I know my area in SEBR got about 8-10 inches of rain during the storm. It was raining and windy here for a solid 2 days

Thanks. Between Johnston and Congress. We were maybe going to his house but opted to stay here in Abbeville. He left to hang out with friends in I think BR.

Just north of Maurice. We had water that came up very fast, but also receded very fast. We were lucky it was so dry prior to Laura. I was nervous for about 30-45 minutes though. I had some flashbacks to 2016 watching that water rise by my back door.

Between Johnston and Congress. He I think was just nervous as he hadn’t been there long and the road slopes to his yard.

I’m sure it’ll be fine — but at 230 in the morning for Laura there wasn’t anything I could tell him to do. Welcome to homeowner worries for him.

Curious to see how the trees do in Baton Rouge with the rain overnight and sustained winds 30-40 mph.

There's 2 water oaks in very poor health on college drive between Corp and Jefferson. I'm expecting those to be culled in this.

If his concern is about rising water, I'm guessing he lives near a cement coulee.

I may agree, but he may have been swerving to avoid a 40 year old mom of three that cant drop facebook for 2 minutes while she is driving.
