hopefully some dry air will be included with that shear

It will be. Whether it helps weaken will depend on how strong the storm is and how soon before land the shear starts to erode the SW eye wall

I think if you are really bad in life you come back as a cow and live in Cameron. I’ll bet those cows run to the slaughter house to get away from the humidity and mosquitoes.

Looks like weakening may have begun by looking at the latest satellite loop.

On IR it almost looks to be taking some shear from the SE.

1 plane penetrating eyewall now from the north

other plane just turned towards the eye from the outer ends of the storm... making a NE to SW run

Are we going to get a double penetration?

I will say that with Delta's structure being all over the place throughout its life and it still steadily strengthening, I don't know what to expect from short term trends.

Last VDM says the eyewall had reopened on the SE side. SW shear might be doing enough. This process of firing convection downshear on the NE side and rotating around has been the primary mode today. This has tended to have the SE be fickle as the convection fades once it gets wrapped to that side. Earlier it fired some storms from that SE side and that let it close off but it didn't last.

There's no getting much stronger from here without that eyewall being closed.

most recent eye drop - 25.2N 93.5W @ 23:34z

previous eye drop - 25.0W 93.4W @ 22:03z

so in 91 minutes, it's moved +0.2N +0.1W
