Wasnt White Lake ground zero all day yesterday?
Yes. It shifted west at the 10p and 4a updates.

Should I cancel my vacation plans for the panhandle cause of this storm?

Are the western shifts in the models due to the storm not being as strong as expected at this point? i.e. a stronger storm would have interacted with the high ridge over texas sooner and pushed it farther east?
Ridge has been showing up stronger and upper low less prominent, so it moves west more.
Stronger could mean a little more east late when the trough starts taking hold but it's more the synoptic scale features forcing things west at this point.

There really needs to be a :babe; type script that answers all the questions and includes that the centerline is not a designation of where the storm is going. Maybe a link to the NHC for serious discussion boards.

brand new DSLD neighborhood
I also live in a DSLD house. While I initially thought that they are quickly built cutting corners and whatnot, certainly they have to adhere to building codes and shite right? Like do they have to be able to withstand a certain windspeed?

Gfs said max gust like 50-60
Euro said 75-80 gusts.
As of about an hour ago when I looked.
That's from windy.com

Early 12z models shifted slightly east back toward White Lake:
But did it really? Landfall looks the same, except for one outlier on the east. It just looks like the grouping got tighter. North, it does go more east, but not sure thats what everyone is concerned about currently.

The dsld neighborhood behind Maplewood school did surprisingly well too considering the surrounding areas. I think the lack of mature trees helps that, but the construction looked to hold up much better than I expected.

My dad and grandpa built houses until my grandpa retired. When I bought a DSLD home I had them inspect it every step of the way and they were both impressed at the way they were built. Their only complaint was the interior paint was cheap.
