Having a fair crop. No were near the best. Native trees are a bit better, but not great. This storm can make or break my crop. Got close to 30 years invested now.

Morning all

If you have battery banks for your cell phones now would be a good time to get them charged
If you have outside pets that you can’t bring in write contact info on inside of collar with a sharpie
Make sure to have leashes close by so if you need to go quickly you can grab & go

Good luck to everyone

Are we really expecting 80-85 mph winds in BR?

Why don't we rebuild our power lines underground after a hurricane destroys an area in Louisiana?
Probably for the same reason you don’t bury your dead underground in LA.

They were saying 81 mph gust in BR yesterday

If that holds true BR will be wrecked

Those would be sporadic gusts. Not sustained

Seems like a pretty big disagreement between this model and the NHC guidance. Is this the HWRF? If it is, I thought it was what the NHC uses to make guidance maps

What is the truth about its windspeed right now? They are calling it a major but last night they could not find a wind above 106 mph.

Truth is the NHC is slow to downgrade given the overall conditions before landfall. Probably a Cat 2 though.

There is a law or statute that says power companies are supposed to bury their infrastructure or something or another.

A friend who is a powerful attorney has about two miles of oak trees fronting his property. He read the law to Entergy and they know not to touch his trees. He told them that if they have to cut, then they better bury their lines. They haven’t touched his trees in twenty five years.
