I've got to be able to cold store breastmilk, pump the stuff, wash the ridiculous assembly and keep bottles sanitized and clean.

If you're already pumping, you should be using the Kiinde bags and nipples. frick cleaning out and sterilizing bottles

This is the boat I’m in. I am in Prairieville, I have a 3 month old, 4 and 5 year old. If I knew it was coming I would be out of town tomorrow. It sucks to sit and wait around because then it’s usually too late.

Why is there no defined eye yet and does that mean anything concerning the strengthening/weakening of it?

The eye is really fricking small and so it's not really showing up yet on satellite. There's also probably a little weak mid level shear keeping it cloud covered as well. I don't think it means much for the strengthening trend, because in practice this is more like a five mile wide tornado over the water.

A bigger center of circulation and the lack of an eye would suggest it was barely a major. We'd be watching for one to show up to show the next strengthening phase. With a pinhole eye though, it doesn't tell us as much other than when it does show up it'll be pushing Cat 5.

I keep telling folks that it will keep moving west. Nobody wants to believe this expert!

Corpus could be in play. We will know more in 12 hrs. Doubtful though. Galveston Cat3. Rutherford Beach Cat2. Potentially headed to CLL or KJAS in the am with a buddy of mine. Perhaps neither depending on storm track.

so getting this thread back on track

currently no planes in the storm itself

1 plane just started sampling the atmosphere above the Gulf

has the NWS or NHC given the order for offices along the east coast & midwest/plains to put up weather balloons more often?

Rds, Duke, Slack, Geaux... is there anything showing a shift to the east? Not necessarily a significant shift. Everything keeps shifting west and nothing to the east.

Climatology indicates that an eastern jog is way more likely to happen as we hone in the 24-36 hour timeframe. i.e. Sally. I'd suspect the western approach will end and some eastern approaches will once again enter the picture tonight and tomorrow.

I can say without hesitation that the tree around my house give me the most anxiety during a storm.

Trees are the biggest concern for me too. However the center of my house in the living room is safe from all the trees around me.

In general, other than the few legit questions about impacts on travel and evacs, no one else should post in these threads other than you, rds, the guys posting model updates and one or two others that add value. And maybe peej, so we can do the opposite of what he says. The rest of the attention whores should STFU. And it’s always the same crop.

The GFS model and the Euro model are trending more west. The Euro actually has it all the way to the LA/TX state line.
