It’s been 7 years for me. Only have Snapchat and Twitter and Twitter is friends and informational stuff for work (no news). Haven’t missed FB/IG at all.

I only use Facebook for the groups, now. Don't have it on my phone. It can be a great source of information but yeah, you can easily get caught up in BS

I have fb, but I only see what I want to see on it. My blocked list might be longer than my friends list (maybe 350...). I only follow about 50-75 people. I only like the pages I want on my feed. I only have Instagram to keep up with one friend who moved to Illinois. He only uses Instagram. I only go there if I have a notification from him.

I never post on social media apps. On instagram, I strictly follow funny dog accounts and some golfing stuff. Somehow when I had twitter my feed got crammed with political crap and I just quit looking at it a couple of years ago. I still scroll instagram watching dogs with the zoomies or dogs doing funny stupid crap.
Facebook is for a bunch of Karens to type out messages using a lot of words when a few words would say the same thing.

I once caught a 24 hour ban on facebook for quoting a children's book about monkeys who steal a cap peddler's hats. Apparently facebook's algorithm equates monkeys with black people.
I caught another 24 hour ban for jokingly telling my brother in law I was going to kick his arse.
Every time facebook does this kind of shite, I become less engaged with their platform. I'm at the point now where I never use it, but keep a profile in case out of town family members need to get in touch with me.
Facebook is basically run by the amalgamation of every horrible overbearing elementary school teacher you’ve ever had.

Since the last presidential election. It's wonderful not knowing everyones business. Only downside is not remembering everyones birthday. I did kind of enjoy letting wishing everyone well on thier day.

I got off both a couple years ago and haven't looked back.
I've only found one thing I miss - a lot of teams (Ex. Braves) have ticket resale groups that are very useful, and now I have to use my wife's FB for that.

Did that in 2020 during all the George Floyd shite. Life is so much better without that garbage.
