4-8 inches on the northshore will be okay but any snow in New Orleans will be problematic will all of those cars with no tread on them.

Anyone here have experience with the Freeze Miser for preventing external hose bibs from busting during cold weather?

By Thursday? What kind of delay am I looking at?
Posted on 1/18/25 at 8:41 am to Towelie
It gets into the mid 40’s Thursday. Bridges may be tricky but I would think by Thursday afternoon that drive would be doable.

Maybe by Thursday afternoon Wednesday won’t get out of 30”s so nothing will melt on the basin bridge. Then it’ll just harden back overnight.

Does anyone know what the weather will be like in the Gulf of Mexico about 50 miles south of Louisiana

I have my gas stoves that we use for camping. Between those and our mountain camping gear, we should be good, even without a generator.

So we are looking at a bunch of sleet and ice in Tangi, no bueno.

I would imagine it is going to be pretty wet

Alright, baws.
I’ve got to get from BR to NOLA on Wednesday. Think Airline Highway will be open?

That's what I was saying last night. It always turns out to be ice and that's 100x worse than snow. Don't really care about snow but you know this thing is going to push a bunch of ice through which is going to mess things up. I hope it's minimum.

Right now I would guess it would be closed early and open around noon, but that is just a guess

i trust official forecasts, and the winter storm watch states 4-8" of snow based on studying the blend of models
