Simply don't pay them and they will remove them. This is not rocket science.

Then they say they are “required.”

They will just say no deal.

They control the supply and you have the demand. Unless you have a way to get by without a car, you are going to be overpaying somewhere else.

Pay it then, but no fee is required. Only taxes and license

I've been pretty happy with the ones I've owned, oldest being an 18, but the resale drops like a rock.

BMW is one of the few brands that age well

E36, E39, and E38 were the last BMWs to age gracefully. I could accept the E46 M3, as well (not the non-M E46). The decline of BMW aesthetics came when Chris Bangle started leading their design department.

Yeah, I dont disagree.

I was referring to resale.

I like the last years of the M5, before BMW made it weigh 5300#.

They killed one of the best handling and balanced cars I've ever driven. Not a full-on sports car, but pretty awesome all-around.

I didn’t pay. I walked away after telling the dealer these fees they claimed were required weren’t. It was an extended warranty and some underbody spray protection and some other form of interior spray protection coating - all of which was close to $4k OVER the price they advertised the car for.

Told I thought it was illegal to force that as a required part of the sale as I was walking out the door. Went somewhere else and bought the exact same car without the bullshite.

Two days later.

“Dave. Still want that car?”

Jesus, idiots like you... No, you won't. A small dealer in Brookshire, TX may be trying to unload a car that's sat on their lot that the local populace can't afford because it was bought in error given the market. They'll compete, and ship the car to you.

I used to live down the block from the GM of my preferred dealer, who just tells sales to whack all the nitrogen filled tire, etc. BS. *That* guy I trust.

But you keep trusting Price LeBlanc, or Gerry Lane, or whatever f'ed up dealership you "trust" to convinces you clear coat protectant is "required."

The car we just got the Mrs. Iwy had a $1600 ceramic coating. Interior and exterior. if it is the good stuff that is applied right, not the cheap stuff, it's actually pretty nice. This has a 7 year warranty on it as well. Car looks like it was just waxed and scratch proof, not bad.

Of course I said there's no way I'm paying for that so it got thrown in for free so I can't complain.

A good ceramic coating will run north of 1500. I was quoted 1700 for my new truck. Instead I got ppf on the front, rocker panels hood and a pillars. Already saved me twice from rock chips on hood. Its an investment to do CC or PPF

This was done by professionals not dealer.
