Well baws, the day I knew was coming has arrived.

Aunt Flo visited the wife on Saturday. And then she visited my 11 year old on Sunday for the first time.

I don't think I'm quite ready for the kid to be growing up this fast. I'm sure AF surprised it started at 11. Also not looking forward to the two of them being "aligned" and I get to deal with attitude from both of them at once.

Other than starting to get feminine products at Costco, any other advice from other dads about how to handle this "transition"?

Build yourself a shed with a lock. Go in, lock it, and come back out when she’s 18. The aliens will have returned your daughter.

Seems to happen to kids younger now. My daughter got hers at 10. I live in a house of estrogen and feelings

You've come to the perfect place to discuss your daughter's period and puberty.

Keep it to yourself and not inform the Internet of your daughters puberty state. I am pretty sure that would be her view.

The lesson for you is this:

Always disappear the last week of every month.

Good luck. Growing up in a house with two sisters there was a week every month I hung out at my friends house after school.

Also glad I’ve got one daughter and two sons. My daughter is 11 so I know my days are numbered. But the boys are at a good age to take a camping trip or go fishing.

Now that I know girls get periods at 10 and 11 years old, I wish I could go back to 5th grade and tell the girls with attitude to shut their mouth until they were off the rag.

I'm sure she'd be thrilled to know that you shared her vagina bleeding with strangers on an internet message board.
