I’ve accepted my responsibility in it already. I enabled my wife too much and tried to plan too far in the future for both of us. She is a spender and doesn’t think about anything beyond her shadow while I have short, mid and long term plans.
Getting divorced now wasn’t planned but it also doesn’t take me by surprise, I’ve been miserable for a couple years and it kept getting worse the more she was on the phone. We went to the beach for the day a few weeks ago and she never put her phone from the time we got in the truck to when we walked back in the house. I went and spent the weekend with a buddy a week later to discuss it and then I caught her lying to me when I got home and that was the final straw.
I could’ve done more and loved her more but in the end it wouldn’t have mattered. The end was going to be the same either way. Now I just want it done and over.

I'm 43 but said my age was 38 on a dating site. Found me a hot 35 y.o. When she really started to like me, I told her I wasn't 38, that i was actually 43. It worked. She said she wouldn't have considered me on the site if I put my actual age

This is a known fact.. everyone on dating apps lies about certain things.. it’s like playing Major League Baseball in the steroid era; if you werent juicing, you werent gonna be able to compete…. I haven’t been on any dating apps in a few yrs, but when I was , i added an inch or two to my height (im 6’2” and usually put 6’3”) and shaved 5 yrs from my age.. i figure, any creature who’s gonna spend an hour painting their face in the morning, and suffering in high heels so her legs will apprear longer- wont care if i lie about a couple of things too, right ??

Do whatever the frick you want to do whenever you want, with whomever you choose. That's the freedom of being divorced in your mid to late 40's. Occasionally take a woman out for dinner or cocktails with the understanding that that 1 in 4 you might want to see again. There are some clingy women out there who want to call it a relationship after 3 phone calls and a dinner date. Don't get caught up no matter how good looking they are. Play the field for a while. You don't have to be a dick about it all but just see as many different women as you can and enjoy your time.
