Yeah, I'm very glad they're alive. But, there is no reason why that guy should have been able to escape from 2 troopers, get to his drivers side, pull a gun, shoot the officers, and drive away.

Was there a toxicology report done? Could have been high on something especially since it looked like he got hit with a taser two separate times and was still going.

Want to suggest what they should have done differently? Are you speaking from experience?

You'd think so, but the dude that got away from them drove to the hospital with a bullet lodged in his head.

if they shoot him before he reaches his gun, they shot an unarmed man. if they wait for him to get his gun, they waited too long. they just can't win.

Shot him sooner.

That's the predicament now that police face.

Am I the only one that sees a gun fall out when they start wrestling and the smaller cop unload it and throw it to the side? How does he miss what appears to be a full size pistol when he is doing his pat down?

In the article, it says that the gun was a backup piece from the trooper that was shot. Must have come out of an ankle holster as it seems to just appear out of nowhere.

I also found this interesting:
quote:

Across the nation, police dash camera and body camera videos have sparked debate over policing practices and the use of force by officers.

Has it really? Or has it just not worked the way the folks that claim oppression and victimization have hoped?

The way BLM would view it yes.

Do tasers have various levels of strength? It's a taser supposed to disable a person for a minute or so, which should be plenty of time to restrain him with two people I would think.

Out of curiosity, how many fights have you been in? Real fights, not tickle fights with your GF

He didn’t miss the pistol at pat down. The pistol was in the vehicle all the while. The troopers were armed and one had an additional back up weapon. During the struggle the assaliant got his hands on one troopers gun and pushed the magazine detachment button, causing that troopers weapon to jam (watch him attempt to clear it), then the other troopers backup pistol becomes dislodged and the other trooper kicks it away. The assaliant then gets free and runs for his weapon he has stashed in the vehicle. The gun battle then ensues. The smaller trooper was about to kill him when the larger trooper turned to flee and got in his line of fire. Damn shame he didn’t kill him at that moment.

Did I miss something or did the article not mention what happened to the cop who was shot?

And this is pure arm-chair QBing. But the guy was fairly vulnerable sitting in the front seat of his car before he took off. The officer could have moved closer and shot him from the back or side.

Tasers arent even close to being 100% effective. The leads can easily become dislodged if they are in clothing and thw way that dude was rolling and fighting they probably werent even attached anymore.

The other thing is its effects are instantaneous and they dont last. So oce that lead breaks the pain stops.
