There is something liberating about being an average Andy and just doing your job and going home imo.
You will never get fulfillment from work. I have much more fulfillment from hobbies, friends and families than I will ever get dealing with work and clients.
As to women, they can GirlBoss all day long but they will end up buying a dog and dying alone and forgotten. The corporations don't give a frick about them and will use them up and spit them out just like they do to us men.
Noone is special. Once you realize that and accept it, life gets better imo.

One of the things that was noted in the book was that oxy was prescribed at significantly lower rates to black and brown people.
Could be a lack of insurance thing, a financial issue. Or an institutional racism issue and doctors are less likely to give scripts that can be abused by black people.

There is also a large percent who are obsessed with “healing” because they’ve convinced themselves and every other woman around them that adversity and anything else negative that occurs to the rest of us on a daily basis is trauma.

That's not surprising. The male brain isn't as prone to default to outside sources for help, we are "fix it on our own" or "deal with it" by default.
Women are more communal, so they find comfort in external forms of support.

Now I might like most of my work and the people associated, but when I retire frick that.
Depression and anxiety stem from judging yourself vs others primarily and there's only one person you have to impress...yourself. If you have high enough standards, everyone else will be as well.
I leave at the end of the day having to feel good about my contributions, but its not my life and I can find plenty of other places to work here.

Now do illegal drugs. See if numbers flip. One way or the other people are taking legal and illegal drugs. I bet the graph flips on illegal drugs. How do you suppose cartels get rich? America consumes more drugs than any other country. Most people have damaged brains from different things and our diet doesn’t fix them. Read some books on how to fix/improve your brain and you won’t need drugs.

I know several that take Wellbutrin for reasons other than depression. I wonder how much stats are skewed based on the RX and not the diagnosis?

Big Pharma got hit hard by the Opioid crackdown but they will expand revenue streams where possible. They are probably behind all of the sensationalist media that leads to people thinking they need this stuff to cope.
