They're both fine.

I'd rather be closer to the coast, so Houston for me.

I prefer Houston to Dallas having lived in Houston and visited Dallas. No other reason than my preference and I still have lots of friends there.

I'd rather live in Ft Worth over either of those too. I'm not really a huge city guy anymore in my 40s.

They both suck

Dallas- everywhere else in Dallas is 45 minutes down the interstate

Houston- everywhere is 45 minutes of traffic away

Houston is a lot more interesting these days. That wasn’t the case in the past. Dallas is still Dallas. It’s nice, but not my style.

Dallas is nicer overall. Weather is better. For the most part it has better aesthetics.

Houston probably has fewer douchey residents and better food.

I'd choose Dallas but the weather is probably the ultimate dealbreaker for me.
