I see very few hipsters in Dallas.

I do lol It doesn't bother me though because I'm from the NorthWest which is pretty much ground zero for hipsters. We don't have the Seattle/Portland level douches walking around .

Dallas is strip malls and chain restaurants...

Wait what?!?

This is extremely false. Unless you are counting Plano, Frisco, Mckinney etc as Dallas.
The city itself has a ton of local places and history

Houston is flat, ugly, traffic ridden, humid with friendly people and quality restaurants. It is closer to the hill country and coast so you can more easily escape the madness.

Big D is cleaner but all about appearances.

Charlotte or Atlanta blow doors on both.

Dallas has a shite ton of rich people

Has even more overleveraged people desperate to fit in with said people

That said, Dallas try hards are generally pleasant, far better than other striver communities

If you like to duck hunt, fish salt, and get back to the parts of LA that make that state worthwhile, Houston in a landslide.

Yeah. From my 11th floor Houston office I can see...nothing interesting at all. Although I could see that tanker fire a couple weeks ago.

Houston to
New Orleans 5.2 hours
Baton rouge 4 hours
Lafayette 3.25 hours

Dallas to
New Orleans 7.5 hours
Baton rouge 6.3 hours
Lafayette 5.6 hours

A 2 hour difference isn't that bad.

I never thought Dallas was more pretentious than any other big city.

Houston can be more fun to party in, but I'd rather live in the DFW area.
