just saw the footage of the bullet bouncing off one of the gunman and him turning around and shooting the cop in the back then several more rounds into him as he laid on the ground

Just had a cop shot 3 times supposedly in the neck here in STL. Caught the guy from what I'm hearing. Haven't verified it on the news but my phone is blowing up here at work

So I just read through the last 30 pages of this "discussion" and a few things stick out to me:
A) While it is understandable that the guy was brought in as a POI, he has a right to be upset that his picture is still plastered on the DPD Twitter account.
B) The fact that the media is abysmal at clearing the names of suspects in rape and child porn cases has no bearing on the fact that they SHOULD do a better job of it. One "injustice" doesn't make the others acceptable.
C) Lester's message is muddied by his assertion that this was racially motivated and it clearly was not, at least by the media and the police. However, it is plausible that some posters on the OT allow his race to eliminate any sympathy for his unfortunate situation last night.
D) At this point on July 8th this shouldn't be a story because anyone who named him as a suspect/POI has cleared his name as well. Tweets that mention him from the media and the DPD should be removed though.

Who knows. Not during a protest. Cop issued a ticket. Turned his back to walk back to his car. Dude was free to go but got out of his car and shot the cop 3 times in the neck. I'm sure influenced by what's going on. Sounds like the guy was from east STL in illinois

Reddit and 4chan are likely responsible for the guy being a POI in the first place. The DPD said they were monitoring social media for help and this guys picture came up very quickly. It is hard to know if the description of a guy in camo, black shorts, and a gun was first or if the picture led to that description on the scanners last night, but I still contend that Reddit and 4chan are a net negative to these investigations and "ruin" far more lives than the save. Those nerds take their civic duty far too serious.

i dont think it was racially motivated.
i think some of the reaction on the OT is racially motivated.
not the cops by any means.
