I do not think that’s an accurate story.

I assume the influencer had the $$$ for the reward

Haha, this is awesome. If you watch this guy's videos, he goes off on all the idiots that try to cancel people at the gym for voyeurism, shaming, etc.

If those frickers that returned the jacket only returned it because of the award, I hope some major karma is bestowed upon their family

well, that and the fact that the story blew up and they wouldn't be able to wear it without worrying that people would recognize it

i'm very cynical and really hope that i am wrong...

I’m really hoping that’s not the case…. That would not make a happy ending except that the family has the jacket.

Then, why didn't they just bring it directly to the family? Why did the influencer have to go get it?

Certainly the influencer was behind a $5000 reward for an old jacket. He saw this as a way to make a viral video. And it probably worked out for him. I can’t see the family handing out $5000 for this. Dad would probably be pissed.

Influences have sponsors and funds for stuff like this. The family probably reached out to him.

I doubt he accepted the award. I watch him on IG. He seems like a pretty good guy.

Question is, how did he get it?

My understanding is he offered a reward and had some folks contribute. Look at the story on Unfiltered that I linked a page or so ago.

Clearly. Another example of boomerdroppings not knowing how the internet works.

That’s not my understanding. I believe he saw the family posts on social media like everyone else and jumped on it for whatever reasons.

WTF does that have to do with that influencer guy? Did he just find another version if, have it remade

He put out a post originally offering 500 dollars for its return, no questions asked. Other influencers chipped in and the reward climbed to 5k no questions asked. They obviously contacted him since he was the one offering the large sum of cash for its return.

According to Carrie, the person who returned the jacket told them their dad was also a resident of the same nursing home and a worker gave the jacket to his family on Friday.

“So the day after my daddy’s funeral and after my sister and I went to find my daddy’s jacket, the worker told this man’s family they could have the jacket,” said Carrie.

She said according to the man’s family, the worker told their dad she bought it at Goodwill for him.

This makes zero sense. And IF it happened this way why didn't the second family not just give it back?
