Selling shite you get for free has got to be the best “business” model ever.

It's the primary revenue arm to cover the program expenses associated with their significant jobs training, counseling, and placement programs that they don't charge for. They make the unemployable employable. It took the smallest amount of time for me to learn this.

And VOA isn't in the business of selling cars that are donated for free.

But go ahead and keep not knowing things and looking stupid.

I hate to burst your guys bubble, but stuff gets stolen from hospital rooms/NHs all the time. Don't leave anything of value unattended.

For those who want her to sue, you want her to spend thousands of dollars in legal fees for a $100 jacket?

This will likely be considered a theft issue and I doubt LE has a ton of resources to devote to it.

She's doing to best thing by putting out feelers on social media.

The picture says it was sold already.

Here's a more detailed article from Kiran.

LINK

I saw a post from the daughter on Facebook that said the laundry folks admitted that they sent it to Goodwill BEFORE the man passed away. Makes no sense, but someone at the Goodwill store remembers selling it because it was a unique piece of clothing. The man had it custom made for himself. Sad story. I hope they find it.

Some autists on here claim td solved the Mickey shunick murder lol

Lavergne‘s girlfriends brother was posting on here after Shunick’s disappearance about him being very sketchy and driving a white truck. IIRC.

I don’t recall whether it was exactly “solved” here (versus contemporaneous postings that ended up being true), but it was definitely in the mix during that time.

So maybe don’t be such a douchebag.

I’m well aware of the gf’s brother posting what he did. Sorry if the autistic comment hit a little too close to home.

Someone at the nursing home stole it.

Happens all the time.

It never made it to Goodwill.

As someone who is familiar with nursing homes, Either one of two things most likely happened:

1. The jacket was stolen and the nursing home is claiming it was donated. No facility would up and donate all of the residents belongings with a family being involved and not contacting them first.

2. The family did not go and pick up the residents belongings for some time and the facility donated them. This is the less likely of the two but something that happens all the time when things are sitting around for an extended period of time.

Unfortunately there is always more to the story in these situations. Maybe a rouge family member came in and took the jacket. The family will point the finger at the nursing home regardless of if they are wrong or not. Harvest Manor is a good facility overall.

Ask the NH what goodwill they gave it to.

Go to said goodwill and explain the situation

Find jacket?

I am sure if you posted a flyer in the goodwill people that thrift are obsessive they buyer will see the flyer but the buyer may be an arse like other resellers

THIS is exactly what I would do. just a simple color
8 1/2 x 11 flyer with a headline:
REWARD $100
deceased father's jacket
(image of jacket)

I would expect you will have a response within 30 days

That's a nice looking jacket, and an heirloom that would also fight to get back.

It's being shared in reseller groups online. A few have searches set up on the usual reseller sites in case it pops up.

I doubt the Goodwill employee's story only because I'm surprised an item like that made it onto the floor instead of being sent to their online auction site. That's giving them the benefit of the doubt when in all likelihood an employee took it.

They did that and were told that it had been sold.

we brought all sorts of shite to my grandpa when he was in the home, it rarely made an hour before the workers there stole it.

got to the point i told them i was going to install cameras and have them fired and arrested, but they DGAF.

at one point we brought him a fruit basket and left, mom forgot to tell him something, so we went right back to his room minutes later, just in time to see the workers stealing it for themselves.

after that, we made sure to only bring something he could eat or drink without leaving it there.

his wedding ring and watch also vanished into thin air and they claimed no one working there ever remembers him even having one

Here's what the daughter posted on FB.

quote:

apparently this was done before he even died. Laundry services just tried to lie to my sister and say they didn’t know who it belong to and somebody else in that department said oh no, that was Mr. Gagliano‘s jacket he wore at all the time. And then they tried to send her to the wrong Goodwill, and that Goodwill said they would’ve never taken it from the nursing home where he was at that it would’ve had to go to the other Goodwill. And that lady clearly remembers having that jacket, putting it on the floor and selling it last week because it is such a unique item
