It’s hard to beat a minor league or college baseball game for a kid. I think the smaller, more intimate ballparks are a better experience for most kids.

100% agree. Minor league games are more family friendly IMO

Brought 5 year old to Alex Box last year and he was bored after a couple of innings

Still a fun relatively cheap day though

Well take him to a tittie bar and give him a roll of quarters to toss on stage.

Absolutely-daughters, too. I grew up in St Louis and my dad took me to Cardinals games all the time, He’d wait with me outside the locker room so I could get autographs-I have so many great memories of Busch Stadium.

Hitting our 23rd and 24th MLB stadiums with both my sons this summer. Stopping in Omaha for opening weekend of the CWS (hoping the Tigers are there). Been doing it for years and nothing is better.

In the top 3 of my dad memories. Taking my son to an LSU BB game at the beginning of the SK era at the old box. He would play with his Hot Wheels in the pea gravel by the 3rd base bleachers while I watched the game. Damn he grew up too soon. Great times and now he's a grown arse man with a great career that needs to call his mom and dad more often...

I was just reminding my son last Saturday of his first LSU baseball game. Bought him a chili dog and he got it all over himself and the bleacher but that was ok. I had plenty of napkins. Thinking back, that was a great time

Okay, upvote. But a Tulane game is the best you could do?

Enjoy it sir - can’t believe it was 15 years ago I took my oldest to her first baseball game - and to be honest I live in the past - my daughters can tell you anything about the 75 and 76 Reds and we don’t do much baseball now but I still look back and it was so special

Took my 2 year old girl to the LSU game last Saturday.

I didn’t get to watch every pitch, but was still one of the best times I’ve had at a game. She loved it.

Special moment for me.

I grew up going to Barons games at the Met and still remember watching Frank Thomas, Robin Ventura and even Michael Jordan.

I went to a Barons game to watch Jordan a couple times.

The old Birmingham Bulls games when they were in the ECHL were so much fun too. They used to fight like crazy. It was never really crowded and sometimes you could go down to the front row and getting to see them check each other into the boards right in front of you was awesome.

My kids have been to local pro teams stadiums and had a lot fun.

The most fun they ever had was a high school Donkey basketball game. It absolutely blew their mind. They got to attempt 3 point shots at halftime for prizes. Also got to listen to a real auctioneer do his thing.

It was a real culture shock for them but many laughs and memories were made.

Some of my favorite memories are from 1991-1999 at the old Alex Box. I knew all of the players, security guards, etc. Armando Rios and I would flip across centerfield on Wednesday's, when kids could go on the field for the National Anthem. Scored many a foul ball by the train tracks. When Lloyd Peever was hit in the head, he spent his recovery gunning pitches in the gold seats, behind home plate. I got to know him and he gave me a call before he left for the minors. Kenny Jackson invited me to his wedding (I was all of 13 or so).

My Mom was an avid LSU baseball fan and brought me and two of my best friends to the away weekend games at MS State for my 13th birthday. We had so much fun. The players were at the hotel next door and we hung out in their lobby hoping to catch them walking by. We weren't disappointed. Those were amazing years.

I am now in my early 40's and still think of those players as grow-ups, even though I am 20+ years older than they are, now.

Thanks for all of the memories, Mom!
