Yeah, where they were is the heli-skiing mecca for all of the best snowboarders and skiers in the world. Top tier terrain.

Helicopters are ringing up one hell of a death toll.

This is the second billionaire plus Kobe in barely a year.

Also these are very specialized helicopters that are suited to almost always fly in these type of environments.

a heli-skiing trip

I’m too poor to even know what this is.

March and April are the big heli-skiing months, locally. Lots of foreign nationals come through and it does cost some money.

Best heli-skiing in the world though. Massive amount of snow, low tree lines...etc.

I wouldn't set foot anywhere near a helicopter if I were worth $17 million. $17 billion? That's just stupid. Darwin award winner.

These are super secluded lodges where there are no roads. All material is flown in from an airport or other location

If a helicopter can get there you damn better believe my F150 can too

I'd try it, but I wouldn't want the pilot watching me.

They really aren't. I know some of the ERA copters here went back to the Gulf of Mexico when tourist season ended.

You can get a glacier trip on a Robinson R44 out of Girdwood. Very basic. One of my coworkers is a helicopter pilot. She's working out of the business right now because of a lack of tourists.
