Yeah, not fun, but you won't die.

Weekly thread these days. You guys are getting old

Had one after passing my first kidney stone. The stone must have been jagged because it left a wound in my urethra about a half inch from the tip that did a lot of bleeding.
The metal rod going in during the cystoscopy and irritating the wound was the worst pain I've ever felt.
But as long as your urethra is intact you should be OK if rather uncomfortable.

It's not fun but it isn't the worst...unless you're having a stent removed, then it's the worst

No fun at all, but the idea of it is even worse than the procedure itself. Have had many of these over the years.

I had one about a year and a half ago. I'll think twice before I tell my Urologist about blood in my urine again.
The nurse/tech/resident told me "This may feel a little uncomfortable" and proceeded to shove what looked like a pressure washer wand up my willie. And she was correct, it was definitely uncomfortable.
In the grand scheme of medical maladies, it wasn't that bad. But I'm certainly not looking forward to the possibility of another.

Yep mine was to remove a stent after kidney stone removal. I thought I emptied my bladder and the Dr pulled the stent out like he was harvesting turnip roots. I pissed all over me and the two pretty nurses that were assisting. Not one of my finer moments.

I just had one about three weeks ago. Second one I have had.
ETA: I have yet to look at what instrument they stick up pee hole.

Think pressure washer wand, except slightly smaller.
The Urologist wanted me to look at a monitor that was a little over my left shoulder to see the damaged tissue "at the neck of my bladder". I told him that I wouldn't know healthy bladder tissue from radiation damaged tissue, and even if I did, this was not the time for sightseeing.

Never again will I complain about something that will result in having that procedure.
It was the worst fricking thing ever having something the diameter of a pencil shoved up my dick all the way to the base.
They told me it would be painful the first time I urinated but they didn’t tell me it would be electric volcanic fire lightning shooting out my dick.
Never. Again.

Had one a few years back, they gave me IV, similar to what I had during wisdom tooth pull so didn't feel a thing. Afterwards, you basically piss air for a bit and it's a bit uncomfortable

It’s not bad at all
But now when you decide to go get a few beers with the boys just after that first Piss you take let’s just say Kramer Seinfeld episode.

It was extremely uncomfortable. And it felt like I was pissing razor blades for 3 days afterwards.

Cystoscope caught bladder cancer as I was concerned about passing blood. Underwent 6 weekly sessions of BCG. Waited about a monthe then a three week treatment followed by another three weeks.
Each session involved a cystoscope and a ton of BCG. I started on my back and every 15 minutes rotated to my side, then my stomach, an so on unti an hour was up.
I am cancer free an now have cystoscope every six months.
I told my urologist I was sure a bunch of doctors were drinking and one of then said, "I know, let' try that tuberculosis stuff on these guys."

It was the worst fricking thing ever
I don't know how old you are, but thank your lucky stars that was "the worst fricking thing ever" that you've experienced in your medical history.
As time goes on, I consider everything that doesn't kill me to be a win. I had recently completed radiation treatment about 9 to 12 months before. Might have been closer to 18 months...
The first time I pissed blood out of the blue, I called the Urologist's office. Being the master of bedside manner that he is, he told me "We need to keep an eye on that. You know once you've had one cancer, your're more prone to getting others." I honestly thought he was fricking with me.
After more MRI/CT scans, the bleeding continued sporadically. So, here comes the pressure washer wand. Fortunately for me, no additional cancer. Fortunately for my Urologist, no additional phone calls!

It isn’t that bad. I was able to take nitrous and I honestly didn’t even remember the thing.
The anticipation is the worst part.

Yes, unfortunately I looked at what they were about to stick in my schlong and started having heart palpitations! Once I settled myself down, they proceeded….It wasn’t pleasant, but not as bad as I thought it would be. It absolutely beats any kind of surgery.
I never thought I would hear myself say this, but you’d be suprised what can fit in your dick!
