I'd be surprised if they left Galveston at all considering the expected timing of the landfall in Texas being Monday in the AM.
Ships go to sea in weather. Makes no sense to get beat up in a port. Prolly sail way east then south.

Before you set sail, make sure you are at least ~25lbs overweight and your wife has tattoos covering 25% of her body.

They will do everything to sail. Those port fees cost them bigly

Went on a cruise during a storm once. They just reversed route and went around behind storm. A little rough at first but after a day or so no problems

You need to look at cruise critic or r/cruises on Reddit to ask this question. You won't find many serious answers on here.

Bro why are you going on a cruise?

I am leaving on a cruise out of Galveston on Monday
The Royal Caribbean meteorologist was on the Weather Channel. He said he expected the cruise ships leaving Galveston on Sunday would have enough wiggle room to maneuver around the storm. He expects the Port of Galveston to be closed Sunday night and Monday.

I’m guessing you know this but your sailing has been cut by a day. Mariners return has been pushed back one day.

Do you wear a weave? If so, write your name in it now.

May be more of a challenge for the boat to get into port based on the timing of the storm. They could either come in a day early or stay out a extra day. Took a cruise out of Galveston in February once. We were delayed a few hours leaving and delayed a whole day coming back because of fog. There will be other ships trying to get in as well. Either Royal Caribbean should update you.

You'll have to port in another country. Can't just go from Texas to the Keys and back.
Waivers can be given in situations like this, if you try to go somewhere else and nowhere else is available.

So you are losing a day.
When this happens with Carnival, they refund you a day or give you an on board credit equal to a day's fare, plus refund the port fees for the missed port. So you will have a shorter, cheaper cruise.
Costa Maya is very underwhelming, you aren't missing much.
