Meaning most crossfit workouts will look like your traditional workout for the majority of the workout.

Then you just go whacky and start doing stuff that can easily get you hurt for no reason other than being different.

People who do crossfit are more likely to fall for pyramid schemes and work for places like primerica.

Sure. I guess. You can easily get hurt in most workouts.

Any time you do anything with power and speed there is a chance that you can hurt yourself.

And it has nothing to do with "being different". That is nonsense. It is all about the competition side of crossfit, which is why it is so popular, especially among athletes. Whether you are competing with others or just with yourself, it helps drive people.

I thought I wanted to learn these for those high rep WODs, but now not so sure. May just stop at regular kipping. I do stricts at home.

What’s the benefit of timed workouts? That only promotes sacrificing technique for speed.

So you can compete, bro! Let’s up our risk of getting hurt by like 50% so we can throw some dumbbells back and forth...defeating another team throwing dumbbells back and forth.

That's why you don't use the death grip. Wrap your thumb or you can easily be on your back.

I think CrossFit is a just as goofy as the next guy, but its still funny that a bunch of fat plant workers who haven't seen the inside if a gym since high school will come in here and talk shite about how those aren't pullups.

Those are definitely not pull ups. Not matter how good of shape you are in, that stupid arse form will cause injuries. Muscle strain anyone?

The competition part and to push you to get your heart rate up

This is true and is my biggest complaint when it comes to crossfit. There are some workouts that I will not do for time.

The thing is though, nobody is going to make you doing anything. Be smart.

And every CF coach that I have worked with has been very good with pushing proper form over speed.

Yes...?

So you keep commenting about something that you literally have no knowledge about? Very odd.

Metabolic demand is much greater. These workouts are not done with max weights, a man may deadlift 450, the workout may have a 185 lb deadlift if there is a timed portion.

There is no need to sacrifice form unless you are not very aware. Doing it wrong does not make you faster.

Now, if you have been told to correct your form, if your weights have been reduced, if you have been given demo after demo, if you have been warned...and you continue to do it incorrectly..and someone wants to film it and post it on youtube, there is really nothing anyone can do about that.

I know enough to realize how dumb it is, and that the risk/reward is terrible.

I’d rather go play a real sport, stay in shape and not have to worry about getting injured throwing kettle balls over my head. Maybe I’m just old fashioned.
