Yeah, my dad isn't baller wealthy, but he's well off enough to pay cash for his condo, vehicles etc. His score was in the 600s too when we looked. He probably hasn't owed anyone a dime in 20 years.

Credit scores are kind of a shite way to look at financial health in many ways though. My dad has a somewhat crappy score because he doesn't owe anyone anything.
Yes, with that being said - mines like 814 or something.

799 today.
It was around 820 until I paid off my mortgage. The only debt I’m carrying right now is one more year on my truck note. They don’t like it when you don’t have any debt.

Damn. We are poor and trashy.
The last time we did an official pull, it was 760 and 790, respectively. However, we have two houses, soon to be three (through inheritance), fairly new vehicles, a couple of toys, and enough land to spare. And all bills are paid on time.
I am not a financial genius, but I always figured it was better to use free/low-interest money in case SHTF. In that case, I got the cash I need on hand.
With regards to closing CC accounts, I have a distant family member who had a couple of shitty credit cards while in college. She was paying $300/year between annual fees and monthly fees for each card. Since college, she has reached Credit One/Capital One status. But she is scared to close those accounts. Ridiculous.

Just checked on capital one. Credit wise/fico is 786. Dropped 5 points for some reason.
Edit: Louisiana average credit score is 636. So not surprising the OT average is 836.

Was just above 800 about 3 years ago before a mishap with a replacement debit card led to a missed payment on a line of credit at my bank, bombed all 3 of my bureaus 100+ points overnight. I'm almost all the way back now.

It’s the people with great credit scores that don’t need to borrow money.

Counted up the OT's scores, and again, the average score in LA is 636...
600's: 3
700's: 17
800's: 59
People just lie for no reason on here.

Credit scores are somewhat bullshite now.
So many people have excellent credit that a few years ago, the agencies got together and rejiggerd the formulas.
They do silly shite to justify their own existence.

I’ve only got a mortgage and one credit card left. Paid off two loans and a credit card over the last two years and the score dropped over 100 points. So I honestly don’t care what it says anymore. Working on getting to the point I don’t owe anybody a fricking dime.
