Who do you think can get the bigger mortgage? An 820 with AGI of $80k or a 720 with an AGI of $300k. BTW, they will both get same interest rate. Credit score doesn't remotely reflect wealth or buying power.

we paid off our house when we sold it and my credit score dropped 35 points- it makes no sense. so i'm gonna stop worrying about it.

It's a dumb system.
Yep, and it’s a system designed to keep you (not you specifically) in debt and keep you a wage slave until you are able to retire in your 60s or 70s (maybe) and enjoy what precious few healthy years you might have left ., just because it’s a system accepted by the masses doesnt mean that it’s any less dumb .

Over 850 according to Mazda finance a month ago. Didn’t even know that was possible.

These threads that ask such personal information baffles me. I have zero interest in what the credit score of someone else is. Being the youngest in my family and watching my older brother continually ruin his credit taught me a lesson to always take care of my business and not to buy more than I can afford. Pretty much everything is paid for at this point.

What's the deal with this?

I will rotate through different cards on a 4-5 year basis for the sign on bonuses. Hit the minimum spending limit in a month then cancel before my one year anniversary and move to another card. In another 4-5 years, I'll pick up that card again and get the sign on bonus. Chase Sapphire just went to a one time offer on their bonus so I won't be picking that car up again if/when I drop it but a constant rotation between Cap 1 Venture, Amex, Southwest Visa, etc.

Not sure what my score is but I just financed a used 2010 Civic and got a 35% interest rate. Is that good?
My 505 score got me 22% from Credit King on my 2013 Kia Optima. Complete with blacked out windows, personalized tag, air freshener, and side scrape from the gas pump. You can smell this burnt skunk coming from a mile away.

My dad never had a credit score. Never had a cell phone, credit card or a computer. Never saw him pay for anything except in cash.
