I had a neighbor named Robert Moussallem who was a super shady character that stumbled across an IRS agent he was able to bribe to make a tax issue go away. This was in the late 80's. So naturally he started offering the service of delivering bribes to the agent for other wealthy folks in trouble, for a hefty fee, until he was eventually caught in an undercover sting.

After Moussallem was busted, the Feds gave him the chance to get off the hook if he would participate in an operation to entrap Birmingham mayor Richard Arrington in a phony land deal. (Arrington had a real land deal with Moussallem blocked by the courts and Arrington was later jailed on corruption issues). Moussallem got cold feet and spilled the beans to Arrington, which led to Moussallem being indicted. Time ran article about it, Arrington being the first black mayor of Bham.

So the Feds had Moussallem indicted and convicted but a week after his conviction he was at a bail bonds place at a meeting planning an upcoming fundraiser for a Dem candidate for governor when a shotgun "accidentally" went off and shot Moussallem in the face and killed him. Moussallem had $10k in a briefcase and the Time magazine was open to the article on the table. The Dem candidate's story changed about being in the room when it happened and the police supposedly didn't arrive with any haste.

I think common wisdom is that he was probably murdered but no one was ever charged and the official word was accidental.

Walk in to the movie with my pants full
Twix, bag of chips, plus a snapple
Stealing all the shampoos, from the hotel's pretty bathrooms
Cheating, i've been peekin' in the classroom
Looking like a nice guy, 'til I take your motherfricking wi-fi
And torrent every single song in my library
Then I drive by very fricking high by everybody

My ex girlfriend's roommate was murdered south of Houston. She was strange, think she was into drugs and ran with that crowd. I don't think they ever found out who killed her ?

A busboy at a restaurant I worked at in college shot his mom’s boyfriend in the head and killed him. He was 16 at the time and they were arguing over use of the boyfriend’s car. I think he was tried as an adult and got life without parole.

Played sports with and went to school with a guy who shot another guy in a cane field over a drug deal when we were 17 years old.

He’s doing 40 years for manslaughter.

BRO

The Texas Killing Fields is a 25-acre patch of land in League City, Texas situated a mile from Interstate Highway 45 and approximately 26 miles southeast of Houston. Since the early 1970s, 30 bodies of murder victims have been found within the Killing Fields area.

My lab partner in biology the year this happened. Weird dude, wore a vial of blood on a necklace and had a "kill list" of classmates he didn't like.

Wiki - Sean Sellers

quote:

On March 5, 1986, Sellers killed his mother and stepfather, Vonda and Lee Bellofatto, while they were asleep in the bedroom of their Oklahoma City home. Wearing only underwear to limit blood spatter on himself, he first shot his step-father. The shot awoke his mother, whom he shot in the face. Sellers tried to disguise his guilt by arranging the crime scene to look as if an intruder had committed the killings.[4]

Sellers also later confessed to the 1985 killing of Robert Paul Bower, a thirty-two-year-old Circle K convenience store clerk who had refused to sell him beer.

quote:

At his trial, Sellers said he was a practicing Satanist at the time of the murders and claimed that demonic possession (by the demon "Ezurate"[6]) caused him to murder his victims. In later documents, he claimed to have read The Satanic Bible by Anton Lavey "hundreds of times" between the ages of 15 and 16, when the crimes were committed,[7] and in a "Confession" letter written from prison, he reflected on this period of his life: "I got very involved in Satanism. I truly thought it was an honest way to live, and the rituals of it would enable me to control my life."[8]

His attorneys also argued Sellers was addicted to the game Dungeons & Dragons, although Sellers would later write that the game had no part in his crimes and that "using my past as a common example of the effects of the game is either irrational or fanatical."

I personally know Mike Wade. He used to drive hot shot for me and has been to my house numerous times… I always thought he was a cool dude and was a huge LSU fan. Yet out of nowhere I find that he killed three
People in cold blood that the police said was a crime of rage… I just don’t get it. This dude had a fine wife and had a nice house in shannondoah.

I never got the full story, but when I was a kid I was at my grandparent’s house one summer and one of their neighbors skipped town in the middle of the night. Took his whole family with him. We went outside and there was police tape around the house and several unmarked police vehicles with what looked like detectives going in and out of it. All the adults were real hush-hush about it. After the cops left, they left the house open and all the doors unlocked. We snuck in and walked around and we all freaked out and ran out. House was completely empty.

Not what the thread is about but it triggered that memory.

A high school friend of mine arranged for the murder of his family. His mom and brother were killed, but the dad survived. Eventually the other parties ratted him out and he fled to Mexico. He was later caught, extradited, and sentenced to death. At the last minute the death sentence was overturned and now it's just life in prison.

A guy I went to high school with stabbed his mom to death. I didn't know him well but there didn't appear to be any obvious signs of mental illness.

Grew up in Lewisville/Plano area. My mom was a teacher at an elementary school. One of her students’ moms suddenly started acting distant/failed to pick up her kid one time, and just overall seemed stressed as hell. My mom had a chance to casually ask her if everything was alright, and this woman broke open like a dam.

Get this: her husband (the father) had gone on a business trip, and suddenly didn’t come home. Police found him in a hotel room in Chicago passed out from ODing on cocaine. Was this just a regular ole binge? Nope! Apparently, after this happened, the wife realized she really didn’t know what her husband was doing there anyway, and started digging only to find out that he was a bona fide drug kingpin, and his ‘business trips’ were bulk cocaine sales (I guess at some point he started getting high on his own supply, hence the incident.) The man had never had a genuine job throughout their marriage. Somehow during the course of this she confided all of this in a detective who basically told her off the record “we know, and we’ve been trying to nab him for a while now.” Nobody knows what exactly went down afterwards except that she divorced with the quickness, and got her and the kids outta there. Not sure what became of the dad.
