REMINDER! Free COVID-19 testing tomorrow and Saturday from 8am - 11am at Tractor Supply parking lot in Meraux.

Plaquemines Medical Center is partnering with the LA National Guard and LA Department of Health to provide COVID-19 Mobile Testing on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11 in St. Bernard Parish.

Testing will be from 8 Am to 11 Am in the parking lot in front of Tractor Supply, located at 2505 Archbishop Hannan Blvd., Meraux LA 70075.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Must be 18 years or older
-Must have a photo ID
-Testing will be drive-thru only, and you must remain in your vehicle

You will be called with your results. Due to the overwhelming amount of testing, it will be a minimum of 15 days before you will be called.

Minimum 15 days for results? I mean, what's the point? Are other areas dealing with these kinds of delays? 200K tests a month in LA is useless if they don't have the capacity to process them.

Hence why “most” tests reported are from this past week.

So you have to stay home for 15 days waiting on your results?

At that point none... if you test positive, you won't know until it's passed

We should stop testing asymptomatic people for shits and giggles.

If they are asymptomatic and have been in close contact with someone positive, that's the only exception.

Early on, I wanted asymptomatic people tested because I wanted the general public to see just how many people were asymptomatic and maybe that would calm the public down. I overestimated the general public's intelligence, which I didn't think was possible since I've always had a very low view of the public. Now I will just have to assume the average American eats crayons.

I've heard some of the quickie tests are very unreliable.

Lol so if you test positive, do you still have to quarantine for 14 more days to re-test? Then another 15 days for those results?

So, a 44 day quarantine?

Yes, experiencing same delays here in LCH at free testing sites. Better luck with private testing out of pocket.

This is the problem. So many people needing testing that you A) can’t find testing or B) can’t find results within a useful timeframe. Although people aren’t dying in the streets, the system is overwhelmed to the point you can’t possibly trace and track. It’s inevitable this will run through the entire population at whatever pace it wants to at this point.

Do you just want to be tested so I can’t go to the bar and the stock market stays shitty?

It’s sad how y’all would literally take people’s lives away over a fake democrat virus all because you’re scared

Can't use those in a month to bump your #'s.

So let me get this straight. In order to be tested for a (purportedly) "deadly" and (purportedly) highly contagious disease you need proof of identity. But to vote? Nah. We'll just take your word for it.

Turn around time for our samples at most is 12 hours once we get samples. If waiting for an emergency surgery, 15 minutes for results due to different testing platforms. The positives get delt with first. You know, no news is good news.

I took a COVID test at the Baton Rouge Clinic on Tuesday. they told me that the results should come back within 24-72 hours. It has been 48 hours at this point. What are my chances of getting a result before the weekend?
