Democrats: "Fines are too costly and hurt people"

Also Democrats: "Here are more fines for poor people to pay"

I was just wondering how many uninsured drivers must be in California. Seems like it could be a ton

Just another way to keep people down would be the argument

On a side note, tint fine $199. Seat belt $200. Is there a reason for a dollar difference on a fine scale?

I have to honk at someone on almost a daily basis because they are on their phone when the light turns green and don't notice it.

My guess would be different legislators wrote different bills with their own specific dollar amounts.

What's up with the first one? "Not carrying driver's license" I though it was well established that was racist. doesn't seem very progressive of California.

Passing school bus while lights are flashing - $885. Started to make it $890, but I knew that wouldn’t pass.

do these laws apply to illegals driving without documentation much less a driver's license or insurance?

or does this only apply to white people?
