Listened to a podcast about a lady who's job was to usher people out who willingly want to be put to sleep. Some people feel it's a better way to go out and she will go be with them for moral support. Hard pass.

A friend of mine told a story about being a presiding circuit judge when the jury came back with a sentence of death. He said he believes in the death penalty and this guy surely deserved it. However, it made the hair stand up on the back of his neck. He said when you are the one who makes the sentence and drops the gavel then everything is different.
