What's stopping it from becoming a small Texas?

Is it just corrupt politicians?

If a Ron Desantis style character got into power could the state swing?

Would you financially support such a figure?

It's the people.

Not all the people.

But a large portion of the people.

That’s as likely to happen as Latoya suddenly having an IQ higher than a dog.

A new/better governor wouldn’t matter with all the idiots in the state legislature

The whole state government needs to be replaced

We'd have to wipe the state constitution and start over and pretty much eject every entrenched political family. It would be a job similar to bringing peace to Afghanistan

The fact that known corrupt politicians keep getting elected should answer your question. Corrupt politicians aren't exclusive to La, but once they are known to be corrupt and still get elected, it points to a much bigger problem.

Ron DeSantis (or any politician) isn't going to help Louisiana "turn the corner". It's not something one person can do.

You've got an ingrained system of political corruption. It's improving, but we're no where near turning the corner.

You've got limited opportunities for intelligent young people, so they move out of state to seek better opportunities.

You've got unlimited frickers, literally, who are willing to reproduce another generation of poorly educated citizens living on the dole.

Then you've got the feral hoodrat problem who have no respect for the law, others, or themselves. The grave or Angola is the only corner they're turning. (But not fast enough.)

So, in summation, not No, but frick No.

This mostly.

There’s corrupt politicians in every govt but LA politics are in a league of their own. And for some reason people keep voting for the same ole crooked officials over and over again.

La is a lost cause.

Terrible schools, health, economic/political environment.

There's no number of Bucees that can fix it.

Huey Long and Leander Perez are dead.
But seriously, I think we're making glacial progress on political corruption. Term limits, for instance. I've got to believe that some progress is being made or I'll go nuts. Or maybe become a corrupt politician.

Bahaha…I live in Nashville and it’s such a breath of fresh air not to have politicians trying to control your life.

I started a thread the other day about Edwards trying to crack down on delta 8. Seriously?

And you have to enter your ID to watch porn? What the frick is up with that?

The citizens. One of its strongest attributes is also its Achilles heel. Ironic isn’t it?
