Currently in Hawaii and want to buy an ice chest then return it. Will they accept it back after a couple uses?

Give it to Good Will.

When we get to Hawaii the first thing we do after getting the rental car is head to Walmart and buy food, drinks, a cooler, beach mats and various other stuff we have no intention of hauling back and forth. On the last day, we always fly out in the afternoon so we head to the beach for one last time and pack all the unopened food and drinks in the cooler and find a family that looks like they just arrived and offer it and the beach mats etc to them. The first family almost always takes it and the only thing we ask is they do the same on the last day before they leave.
Buying a cooler and other stuff is a small expense in the grand scheme (plus the cooler saves money and time). Just do the right thing, it ain't hard.

That would be awesome if a cooler got passed around dozens and dozens of times without any of the families realizing that the original owner stored a dead person's body parts in it.

Get a backpack cooler and then use it as a carry on bag

Given this thread, you likely maxed out at least one of your credit cards even going to Hawaii. Bite the bullet and charger another 20 bucks and just consider it part of your vacation debt.
Buying it, using it, then returning it... pretty dang trashy.

People like you are the reason Costco now has a time limit on electronics returns.

Costco is one very few retailers that doesn't suck.
Why would you want to cheat them.

I went to Walmart a couple years back right after Memorial Day weekend walked pass customer service and saw three different black people in line returning grills. lol. True story. I wonder how many tv’s get returned after the Super Bowl.
