Yes. It started its downward trend back in February. Well before a single restriction was put on anyone.

Buddy, this won’t be over at 15 days.

This is just the beginning.

Cuomo pushing for months.

California doing the same thing.

Two of our biggest economies on indefinite lockdown.

More doomcasting. It won't happen.

This is the outcome Scruffy preached against for “hundreds of pages”.

Nah. Scruffy doesn't want to be wrong. Just like the virus doomcasters don't want to be wrong.

Y'all get off on this.

I mean you seriously implied that if we opened everything back up tomorrow we wouldn't be able to recover

You realize China was well into the throes of CV and the American market was dropping due to the fears that this bug was coming right? And it really "tanked" once restrictions were imminent here.

Tx LT Gov just had a great segment on Tucker... dude is level headed.

At some point we need to suck it up and accept the risk. Older generation shelter in place and the rest go back to work and ensure this country doesn’t go into a depression.

Take precautions, but accept the reality.

And crashed the minute we placed these restrictions.

You think that after 2 weeks we’ll just call it quits on this?

I sincerely hope you are right.

I avoid this site because shite like this gives me terrible anxiety.

I get dragged into it too frequently though.

Right. In no way am I saying the restrictions helped anything, but the market was already reacting on corona and destroying 401ks well before we began the shut downs.

Even if we didn't have any restrictions, the market would not be good.

I think we begin to move to the plan you posted on the previous page, yes

I don't know why people think Trump is just going to let the economy collapse while he is POTUS.

When?

Scruffy just didn't post this?

There was a fall, but we had a multi-thousand point drop the day after the restrictions came down.

Because Trump cannot order states to lift their work restrictions.

He can only make recommendations.

I don’t see the likes of Cuomo and other governors releasing.

That was definitely doomcasting.

No, Cuomo isn’t going to relent anytime soon. New York City is a mess though.

I remember when NIH was mocking the containment measures over a 'measly' 60 deaths. Now the U.S. is past 600 and at the rate of over 100 a day.

Again. I'm fully aware. I mistakenly looked at my 401ks/IRAs today.

My point was that all of our investments would be down ever without the restrictions, although not to this level.

Are they not also politicians? I just don't see any politician sitting around watching their entire economy collapse around them for very long. The public outcry would/will be too much.

What you fail to understand is this is not a contest. The numbers are what they are. Until they start trending in a negative direction, it is too early to discuss repealing containment measures. I don't understand why you think there won't be economic repercussions to letting this thing linger unchecked.

So, here are the total number of tests processed in America per day, for the last week, with today at the top:

65840
45627
44068
34654
27372
21538
13243

This is a good trend.

In the past week, the FDA has given approval to new test kits from: Cepheid, Roche, Abbott Labs, Hologic, DiaSorin Molecular, Thermo Fisher, and Novacyt. The increase in testing that we are seeing is without most of these new tests and testing systems coming on line. Cepheid, for example, is just shipping out tests this week. And Novacyt just got approval this morning. And there are, I've read, still something like 70 FDA applications in process, with some more heavy hitters close to approval.

That's why I am extremely confident that we'll get to over 150,000 daily tests in less than two weeks, and that's when we'll really be able to bend the curve.

Thanks for providing great info to the board Tiguar...

Let us know if you need anything. You and your hospital brothers and sisters are doing great work on the front-lines despite the risk you are facing.

Gen X here. Survived the tech bubble by dumb luck, but many didn't. Don't forget that one popping.

Then 2008, I capitulated. Like a bitch. Swore I never would again.

I chased this one down a good ways and decided to stop putting money into it--but I haven't sold anything. frick it.

I agree--we can't stay locked down forever. The longer we're down, the longer and slower we come back. I fortunately have my job and very little debt. But it still sucks to see years of wealth building--middle/professional class, sacrificial wealth building--go up (seemingly) in smoke.

Bend what curve. Cases will skyrocket due to volume of testing alone
