Look, sure this is serious. But in about 2 weeks everyone is going to look at the reaction to this and think "What in the frick were we thinking"

This whole thing is not going to age well at all.

I am hoping that with warm weather, that happens.

Our hospital has not had the panic yet, but we are preparing for it.

Germany is testing out the a-hole. They’re on South Korea levels now so they’re starting to swoop up even the asymptomatic cases

I hope you're right. As does probably everyone.

I don't think this will slow down in 2 weeks.

Maybe in a month.

The other issue, that may explain the Japanese data vs. the Chinese “few true asymptomatic” case data - The Japanese working in Wuhan were those healthy enough to get work visas. China also limits work visas for candidates over 60 (a coworker of mine needed a special visa), so this is looking at a working class crowd of healthy adults and their families.

Yes exactly. My suspicion is that the asymptomatic rate mirrors the mortality rate.

Older patients more likely to be symptomatic and die
Younger patients more likely to be asymptomatic and live

Hopefully there is a large population of healthy young people that aren’t being picked up in the studies that will bring the fatality rate and critical rate down some.

I think this is supported by the Diamond Princess which had very little asymptomatic cases, most likely because that population was older.

I will keep posting it too. The mass hysteria being pushed in this thread is dangerous

Please explain exactly what danger comes from this thread?

What posts won’t age well? The ones where we discuss new cases or the ones where we discuss closures that state and nationwide Orgs/Institutions implemented?

Definitely more masks and Clorox wipers than usual, but the flight I’m on is still packed. I’ve washed my hands more times than I can count

I’ve had a mild cough for a week now so I’m sure it seems like I’m corona’d to people.

I hope that's the case. But there will be the lucky few with stockpiles of TP for years.

well there won't really be a way to prove that the actions didn't slow down the spread, so good luck with that

How do you know that limiting groups of people won’t be the reason this is no big deal 2 weeks from now?
